Waaaaaa! Donald hasn’t called me yet. Waaaaaa! I’m sore in my Cruzerman.
..Mary Matlin used to throw “Common Sense Conservative” around when she was shilling for a pro-abortion Republican...
It’s not very hard to figure, Trump is not running on any Ideology, he is running as the Common Sense Candidate trying to offer practical political solutions rather than wedded to any philosophy or Ideology which have failed us.
Trump, who has never held office before and is willing to self-fund and go 3rd party, is hardly UNIPARTY.
He is ripping both parties and the propagandists who perpetuate this UNIPARTY kabuki theater.
Check your creds and your meds.
he is going to do deals with Schumer, Reid and Pelosi....he’s going to support ethanol subsidies....he’s going to support Mitch McConnell....hes not the uni party, he’s BOTH PARTIES - doing seals, same old same old.
You need to actually listen to your boi
You make good points, C. Edmund Wright. Thank you. Something to consider in my analytics. The Michigan primary hasn’t taken place yet.
if all that were not true about Trump, I’d be one of his biggest supporters, because he’s the most talented and compelling and biggest personality of all of them. I’ve been writing about his fighting spirit since 2011.
But he is who he is philosophically, and that’s got nothing to do with limited government and the Constitution - which is the only way to REALLY make America great again.
People hold up Ronald Reagan as the ultimate conservative.
There is no such thing. Everyone makes compromises.
Ronald Reagan’s liberal actions:
In 1950 Reagan helped raise money
for democrat Helen Gahagan Douglas
against Richard Nixon for California senator.
In 1966, Reagan put together a campaign group
to run for California governor. They were
Phil Battaglia, Casper Weinberger and Jack Warner.
They were all from the liberal Rockefeller wing of
the Republican party, not the conservative Goldwater wing.
1970 Governor Reagan, who once said “taxes should hurt”,
disclosed he paid no state income taxes in 1970 on his
$44,000 governor’s salary and personal assets of around $1-million.
The average worker made around $5,000 per year back then.
1970 as governor, Reagan appointed Donald Wright as the
Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. Wright’s
court later found the death penalty unconstitutional in California.
1972 Reagan supported the re-election of President Richard Nixon instead of giving support to conservative Republican candidate John Ashbrook, who ran an effort to dump Nixon.
As California Governor, Reagan used his own office funds to keep the Office of Economic Opportunity alive in the state and he tried to make California the first state to create its own consumer affairs dept.
1976 in his presidential run against Gerald Ford, Reagan chose the most liberal Republican Senator in the senate, Richard Schweiker as his vice presidential running mate. In 1980, he chose another liberal running mate
George HW Bush.
1985 Reagan, as president, spent $5-billion to bail out the Continental Bank of Illinois. He also added
$9-billion to the International Monetary Fund so Mexico, Brazil and Argentina could pay the interest on
their big debts to the American banks. At the same time, he would not bail out American farmers.
Reagan’s 4th year budget was $141-billion more than Carter’s 4th year budget. Reagan’s total deficits for 4 years was 4-times the total of Carter’ 4-year total deficits.
Reagan increased the national debt in 4-years as much as all the presidents from Hoover to Carter did.
Reagan Supported the Brady Gun Bill in a speech at George Washington University in 1991.
In 1992 Reagan supported NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act) As a candidate in 1979 Reagan first talked about a North American accord. In 1992 Reagan made a plea in a Wall Street Journal editorial to, “tear down this trade wall”.
“...limited government and the Constitution - which is the only way to REALLY make America great again.”
100% correct, sir. No matter who destroys the republic, we have the template for rebuilding it after we destroy the destroyers.
FReegards. FReedom
we may need that template SOON!!!!

I agree, you should adjust your meds.
Gonna have to in order to stay sane in this twisted version of Alice's escapades.

Imagine giving this advice to a Republican presidential candidate: What if you stopped calling yourself a conservative and instead just promised to make America great again?
What if you dropped all this leftover 19th-century piety about the free market and promised to fight the elites who were selling out American jobs?
What if you just stopped talking about reforming Medicare and Social Security and instead said that the elites were failing to deliver better healthcare at a reasonable price?
What if, instead of vainly talking about restoring the place of religion in society something that appeals only to a narrow slice of Middle America. You simply promised to restore the Middle American core, the economic and cultural losers of globalization to their rightful place in America?
What if you said you would re store them as the chief clients of the American state under your watch, being mindful of their interests when regulating the economy or negotiating trade deals?

I agree. It means they are running from the social issues
Whenever anyone feels they have to qualify the term conservative to describe themselves it means they do not really believe in conservatism.
Bush called himself a “compassionate conservative” implying that most conservatives are not compassionate.
Trump calls himself a “common sense conservative” implying that most conservatives lack common sense.
In each case it belies the contempt they have for true conservatives, yet they want to wear the label of “conservative” only to win the backing of the GOP base while assuring moderates and liberals that they don’t really believe in conservatism.
Calling oneself a “compassionate conservative” or “common sense conservative” is really a backhanded slap at true conservatives.
