(Vanity)So Conservatives Win the Election! What then?

I've been up fighting a cold...you know, the kind that keeps you up and you can't get to sleep. I've been thinking about the upcoming elections and all that is at stake.

It's plain to see that there are many opinions out there about what direction the country should go. Even among conservatives, there is some disagreement about the changes that must be made.

Even so, I was thinking...what if the election DID go our way? What if we elected the candidate who would do what they promised and got America's government back to promoting the ideas the Founders intend...personal freedom, individual responsibility, limited government, and so on? Let's say we got what we wanted...illegal immigrants deported, all immigration stopped (especially Muslims), 5 or more unnecessary government agencies closed (Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, EPA, IRS, just to name a few), government limited by the strictures of the Constitution. All this is great and would help get our country back on track. May it happen!

However, I got to thinking about other things that would also need to be addressed, things the candidates can't really promise to do anything about...and, if something isn't done, have the potential to put us right back in the hole again.

The country that gave Reagan majorities and the country that gave Obama majorities are very different.

With 50% and 58% percent of the vote Reagan wasn't able to get rid of any government departments and even added the Department of Veterans' Affairs (basically a rebranding of the Bureau of Veterans' Affairs, but still making it a full department was an indication of how things were going).

No Republican is going to get 58% of the vote this time, so even if a Republican gets elected there will be limits to what he can do.

I guess it's possible that a major crisis will produce an opportunity for major changes, but I don't think we're at that point yet.

No conservative politician, coalition or agenda will prevent the inevitable collapse or civil war. Might delay it, but won't prevent it.

On the other hand a conservative president might actually hasten a collapse. The globalists would love to trigger an collapse during a convervative presidency so that he can be blamed.

To me, your value on the job is relative to the length of time it would take me to train your replacement. For example, bringing on a new computer programmer always take several months or maybe a year to be able to efficiently handle whatever happens. A McDonald’s worker can probably be trained in a week or less.

a worker needs to be paid enough to live

I think you have that backwards. A worker needs to be able to live on what they earn. If the best you can, or are willing to do is flip burgers, then you should not, not, not be responsible for a family of four (and actually, you aren't). Flipping burgers is for teenagers who live at home, or have roommates and eat ramen noodles.

“Better to fix things that are operational, rather than making McCain, McConnell, and other insiders worry about their own skins.”

Until you get these guys on the run and out of the way your
not going to get anything done. Any solution you try to implement
that just addresses the symptom and not the problem is a
waste of time.
