Just an observation.

I was just listening to the news about the election results in Iowa as I was doing other work, and overheard the "Talking heads" commenting on Cruz being supported by 62% Evangelical Christians and it will be different in New Hampshire with 26% Christians. They crowed that Cruz would meet his match in secular New Hampshire and quickly fade when Cruz meets "real American voters".

Within one hour, the same station reported that New Hampshire's biggest problem was overdosing on drugs like heroin. They paraded several poor souls in front of their camera telling their testimony of how drugs and violence was ruining their lives. Almost immediately, I said to myself, Is this the biggest problem in Iowa? Does anyone see the connection here? Does rejecting God and a Godly man equals a collapsing culture? Does anyone even think that if more of us were Christians that walked the walk, would we have the same problems we fight today? Would we have the numbers of problems we have today? Would we have China, Russia, and ISIS breathing down our necks if we were once again a "blessed" country? Can any reasonable person look at abortion, gay marriage, drugs, fornication, ect, and say it's better today than when you were growing up?

I'm 64 now and can remember a time when the stock market was more reliable than today, jobs were plentiful even in a downturn, kids didn't cut themselves and hang from trees, we left our keys in the ignition and the doors were left open, a fight at school involved fists instead of AR15's, when you dated girl she was in fact, a girl, everybody loved America and saluted the flag, we acknowledged God even if we didn't go to church. The list is extensive about what we have lost over the last 60 years. We won wars instead of coming to a draw, we were respected even by our enemies.

I'm sure for the next week or so we will be told over and over we aren't electing a pope, but a politician. I don't want to be preached too from the White House. Even some of the more nasty will invoke the old declaration that the sky fairy isn't listening to us anymore. My question is "why would he listen to us anymore?" We have made it perfectly clear we don't need him anymore. As our buildings fall, our money goes up in flames, our wars are lost, our borders are like a sieve, our children kill others and themselves, we feed babies to Molech, we grasp every idol from anywhere as long as it's not the One True God, how far are we willing to go just to reject the love and protection of God?

You probably have guessed that I'm a Cruz fan, but that's not the total reason for this blog. Will we vote for a person because he ISN"T a Christian? Will we reject someone because he IS a Christian?

If we are Christian enough to be more than a pew sitter, then we know that God is our provision and we can't expect a covering if we reject His presence. God won battles with singers in front of His armies praising Him. Solomon had people bring him riches just because he had God's wisdom. Solomon had NO WAR for his whole reign,.......until he broke God's commands in Deu 17 16-17. When he went back to Egypt to buy horses and chariots and brought in foreign women with other gods, God took his kingdom, raised up a couple of armies against him and the kingdom fell.

Sound familiar?

This has been on my mind for some time now, but the day the kid in S Carolina shot the Christians in a black church after sitting with them for an hour, I saw his face, his empty eyes, filled with demons, and then we watched as EVERY FAMILY MEMBER OF THE VICTIMS, forgave him. Immediately gun control and racism boiled to the top. How could anyone even get a word in edgewise? After all, he admitted he was a racist. But a Christian looks deeper than the surface. How did he get to be a racist? Is a law against the Rebel flag really going to do anything? I want better people and fewer gun laws.

I miss the good ole days when we had better people and fewer gun laws. I know the libs will start to chortle the ole tired Civil Rights excuses to tell us how bad the "good ole days" were. If you look at the plight of blacks today vs then, a case could be made that is was better then. We had legal things to overcome, but many blacks had an intact family, they had jobs, they had a much better survival rate. Any person reading this must know that EVERYONE was better off CULTURALLY then than now. Strides have been made in certain economic areas, but the secular culture that came with it is destroying America. Is it possible to allow blacks to have better jobs without turning our back on God? Is a rejection of God necessary to have integrated schools?

You see Satan can twist things to hide the true intent of spiritual corruption. Now gay marriage is a political stance instead of a moral stance, as well as legal drugs, baby murder, and a dozen other so called liberal stances disguised as political instead of moral.

Like I said, I'm 64 now and have been watching this for decades now and I know nothing I say will save New Hampshire's drug problems because they have already rejected God's way for that of the flesh. Cruz will most likely cut back speaking about God, Rubio won't talk of his salvation again, and so forth. I do believe however, that if God's people who are called by His name will humble themselves, and pray and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. The problem here is God's people aren't repenting and we are not praying for God to heal our land. That is pride. We believe we can vote for a ungodly man to save the land. Would it really be too hard for an atheist to vote for a conservative man that wants to seal the border, balance the budget, and follow the constitution? Trump and Cruz say much of the same things, but one is a real Christian, the other has no clue where his help comes from. They are NOT equal. If New Hampshire votes for a Godly man we will know their pride has been broken and they are calling out to God. We will know we have humbled ourselves when we vote for a true Christian that looks to the blessings of God instead of their own strength. Our strength gets us more drugs, more murder, more cursing, less blessing, and finally ISIS in the White House with a black flag on top. If we refuse to see the truth, it's coming, it has to or God is a liar.

PS. Is Obama still going to the mosque to pray this week? I thought so.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in anything the media says. Ted Cruz has a lot more in his playbook than religion.

There is a strong libertarian streak in NH and Ted Cruz appeals to them as well.

I consider myself a connoisseur of vanity posts, and I mean it most sincerely when I say that yours is quite good. Trump supporters will probably weigh in, but that’s not what you’re writing about, so ignore them...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

If American culture has finally degraded to a point where a clear majority of Americans no longer support Judeo-Christian values, then what hope is there for someone like Cruz to win?

If he were honest he would run his campaign with a slogan like "I'm not the President you want. I'm the President you need." I'm not saying that he should pretend he is a god that will save us, but instead that he is like foul-tasting medicine or chemotherapy.

But that sort of message won't fly.

Cruz didn’t win because he is a Christian. As far as I know, all the candidates are Christians.

Cruz won because he was bolder than Trump.

He sent shaming letters to Iowa evangelical voters comparing their voting history with their neighbors. They got out to vote in record numbers to improve their “grade”.

The median income level of black families was rising from 1946 to LBJ. Then came LBJ’s “Great Society”.

Better watch it...same case was made by the pre-Civil War South and we know how that turned out.

Excellent post. Keep praying, as i know u r. My phone goes off every day at 3:20 to remind me to pray for our country to return to God.

A friend told me today that her husband is attending a group that meets every Tuesday to pray for the upcoming election, that this is a growing movement. I hope so.

What a wonderful article and testimony of your faith, I couldn’t add one thing to your God inspired composition. Thank you....I feel God is interceding in this election and has raised up such a man to restore America and that man is Ted Cruz.....many are praying, not just a few MANY for this to happen. If God be for us who can be against us?

It’s not that the folks in NH are not Christian. It’s that in the Northeast religion is considered a private thing. I’ve lived here most of my life and I cannot recall anyone asking about my religion. But our churches are pretty full.

I went to visit my sister in MS and I was asked at least once a day what church I went to. It was annoying. I told one of them I was a Jew...just to get a reaction out of them.

The drug problem in NH is no worse than anywhere else. The kids are not running wild. The girls’ virtue is intact.

Great post.

Our elite hate “evangelical Christians”. Cruz understands this at more than an empathetic level. He is Christian but unlike Santorum and huckabee he has intellectual skills and experience to fix this.

The justice dept has fought at WAR against Christians and churches. Trump understands but has no real basis for helping. The justice dept and judicial appointments under Cruz will be better than any republican candidate in history. The IRS will be nuked hard for its selective enforcement of tax exempt statuses designed to gut the first amendment.

Moreover the related antisemitism of Obama will be unraveled and crushed by Cruz. This is why religious liberty is so pivotal for national recovery. Israel is pro human rights and borders key problem areas like Syria. Imagine a president on Israelis side against Isis and Iran.

Even Richard Dawkins is realizing Christians are a necessary global reality.

Trump doesn’t know the difference between an offering plate and a communion plate. They’re all offering plates to him.

Loaded question. Atheists will compare secular countries as Sweden with religious ones like the Philippines, but that is not a valid comparison, as would be a comparison btwn groups in which basically all other things are equal, or weighted accordingly when not.

But that the liberal ethos is destructive is well evidenced. See here .

I guess I should have left the part about Cruz out. This was not about Cruz per se, but about a Godly man. I'm from Texas so I have watched him for awhile as he rises in politics. My point was the nation is just about finished and nobody seems to know it. Let me say that another way. The nation can probably get a lot worse, but who wants to live in that? The America that I was given is not the country we have today. My father was a B-24 bottom turret gunner in Europe. All volunteer, every mission. He died awhile back, but I'm absolutely sure he didn't do it for gay marriage and abortion. He told me to my face, America should have lost the war. He went in 1941 and got out at the surrender of Germany. They had daylight bombing. They would send out 100 planes and 10-12 would come back. He said we never even knew anybody's name before there was someone else in their bunk. He couldn't believe we had enough people and planes to just crash into the ground. As he looked back on his war years, he knew it was God that won the war, and for sure got him home.

As we look back to Viet Nam, what do we remember of those years? The pill, free sex, drugs, burning the flag, rebellion, loss of faith. We never lost a battle, yet lost the war. You can explain away what you want, or blame what you want, but lose, we did.

If we look at the Biblical significance of what is happening today, The Antichrist will be an Assyrian,( that would be N Iraq or Syria), He will put together a coalition of Europeans to fight in the great war against Israel,( Europe has already lost, as more refugees are already there than in all their military's put together), he will have one eye and a withered arm( Zech 11:17) and probably be a homosexual.(Dan 11:37) The false Prophet will easily fool the ones left with tricks that look like miracles because they don't know the Scriptures. If we turn on Israel, we will be cursed by God. The Bible says we did abandon them. Zech 14:2 says ALL Nations, that would include America.

I'm just sad this great country must fail on my watch. Leviticus 18:22-30 explains that we cannot be ignored after gay marriage. Judgement is coming,...and I believe soon. I know I will be painted as a Bible kook for believing the Word of God but it is a matter of my faith. I'm just a voice in the wilderness trying to put "The Other Side" out there. Eze 33:1-33 says we are put here as watchmen. It's our duty to warn when the trumpet sounds to keep their blood off our head. There is more to being a Christian than sitting in a pew and voting. Anyone that relies on God's providence would do, it doesn't have to be Cruz, but I know about Cruz. Don't listen to what they say, but look at their fruit.

Great post.

I need to be on my knees more, and in his word more. I’ve been slacking. Thanks for the reminder.

I don’t know if we’ll have a big revival or the end. One way or another, something has to give. I think it will be a drastic year if we make it to the end of it.
