THE UK GOVERNMENT is facing demands to reveal the details of a secret flight through Scottish airspace which was at the centre of a plot to capture whistleblower Edward Snowden.
The plane, which passed above the Outer Hebrides, the Highlands and Aberdeenshire, was dispatched from the American east coast on June 24 2013, the day after Snowden left Hong Kong for Moscow. The craft was used in controversial US ‘rendition’ missions.
Reports by Scottish journalist Duncan Campbell claim the flight, travelling well above the standard aviation height at 45,000 feet and without a filed flight plan, was part of a mission to capture Snowden following his release of documents revealing mass surveillance by US and UK secret services.
That the flight passed over Scotland, airspace regulated by the UK, has raised questions over UK complicity in a covert mission to arrest Snowden and whether any police, aviation or political authorities in Scotland were made aware of the flight path.
Alex Salmond, the SNP foreign affairs spokesman and Scotland’s First Minister when the flight took place, has called for full transparency from the UK Government over the case.
He said: “As a matter of course and courtesy, any country, particularly an ally, should be open about the purposes of a flight and the use of foreign airspace or indeed airports.â€

We’re only hearing of this cuz the victim was a government, not a group of individuals, who apparently no longer matter.

So the mission to capture Snowden failed and three days later Obama snarked that he would not be scrambling jets to capture the 29-year-old hacker
Mmmm hmmm, okay.
Swoden can come back to the US if he foloows these steps.
1. Find the only Tanning salon in Russia and stay there for the next three months and sleep in a tanning bed.
2. Change his name from Edward Snowden, to Eduardo Sanchez
3. Bribe a Russian and Mexican official to get him a Mexican ID and Passport.
4. Fly to Mexico city from Moscow.
5. Sneak across the Mexican/US border.
2) The flight could not have "grabbed" Snowden, it could have only extradited him if the Danes had been willing and able to turn him over to the US.
Check Hillary's email.
What about Hillary? Her breaches were far more numerous and serious.
They should concern themselves with capturing Hillary.
I am not sure how a secret flight would assist getting Snowden. Would they try to nab him and throw him on an airplane and take him back before asking permission? How does one land an airplane secretly Europe?
