There is a video going around about Detroit's school. What would be a good website to direct my grandson to to explain the total decline of Detroit?

I don’t know but I just saw a program on TV today about a pizza delivery guy who was murdered in Detroit. His body was found in an area of abandoned houses.
Oh yes, the murderers were a Libyan and an African. My guess is they both are Muslims.

You beat me by a minute! Those photos are so startling and sad. As an artist and an admirer of early 20th century architecture, the destruction of Detroit offends me to my very core.

I was saddened and amazed ar how so many of the buildings still had furniture and equipment in them. It’s almost like a sci fi post apocalyptic future where everyone died overnight and now we see what they left 20 years after.

It is the beautiful, ruined homes and ornate theaters that really piss me off. The way people have broken the windows and spray painted those lost gems. It is tragic, and straight out of “Atlas Shrugged.”

A few months ago a fire in Paterson NJ destroyed an old vacant building, the armory; residents and politicians bemoaned the loss of such a fine building. Considering that it was vacant/abandoned, I can only guess they wanted it as a reminder that Paterson had one time been civilized - that it wasn’t always the Welfarian dump we see today...
