Quintonio Legrier, a 19-year-old college student, was pronounced dead at a hospital at 4:51 a.m. and Bettie Jones, a 55-year-old mother of five who was Legrier's neighbor, died at a different hospital at 5:14 a.m. Both were black, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Legrier's mother, Janet Cooksey, told the Chicago Tribune that her son was studying engineering at Northern Illinois University. She said he graduated from Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy in Chicago and "was going somewhere."
"We're thinking the police are going to service us, take him to the hospital. They took his life," she said.
She said her son "didn't have a gun. He had a bat."

Have no idea how the neighbor ended up shot, incident happened at 4:25 am. The neighbor’s 5 kids (they say it like they are toddlers) range in age from 19 to 38, and she’s 55!
If Ms. Cooksey, the late young man’s mother, did not call the police, since she wasn’t home ... who did?
4:25 am is sure mighty early or late to be up studying, and why did he need a bat to study his engineering? It seems that some things have been left out of this article.
The mention of the un-related death makes it sound like a Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy story!

Ya know what I hate even more than “jokes about things like this”? I hate the evil leadership in our society who ENGINEERS these events, scripts the responses, plans and funds the riots, and writes the “press” coverage in order to to quicker achieve their goals to burning this whole civilization into the ground. That’s what I “hate”. People on this forum who make “jokes” are merely expressing their outrage regarding the above.
According to another story the guy was shot through a closed door. Not sure how they could have known he had a bat or any weapon for that matter.
Was this an assault bat? Was he licensed to carry. Was he on the varsity baseball team.
Nobody engineered this. If you think so, you need your meds adjusted.
It seems every year more and more people engage in anti-social behavior, for whatever reason and the cops are called upon to resolve the situation. They respond knowing they may be called upon to make a split second decision(s) with life ending results. They are laying their life on the line, their careers, their future, their family's future on the line 'to serve'. When they take action, it is final, no do-overs.
Who in his right mind is so driven 'to serve' as to open themselves and their families to such risk?

By taking a syllable from two or more names and gluing them together.
Sometimes this is done to cover bases if baby mama is unsure whether Quincy or Antonio is baby daddy. Or it can simply be a way to honor more than one relative.
Adding L’ or D’ (alternately, La- or Da-) on the front is a way to Frenchify
the name, and add a touch of bling to what might otherwise be uncultured
thug names. L’Darius and DaMarcus, see?
Or one can go Classical Greek, by adding the suffix, -tavius. Johntavius, or all the way with prefix AND suffix: L’Dontavius!
Girls’ names are often chosen from labels on items found in retail outlets. Dollar store cologne produces names like Shanique or Chantal.
The produce market gives us LaChiquita. From a can of paint we get
EenaMel LaTeek (Enamel Latex).
Etc.

They give them these ghetto names so that the kids will never get interviews, let alone jobs, from wary employers.
However, the upside is that for every unemployed kid there'll be one more boost in the welfare/ADC check$ to get thrown into the family pot.

So when did it start needing a medical examiner to tell if they were black ? The name alone should be a clue for the college student....
