Didn’t he know the release date of Star Wars when he set the release date for his movie? He had to sense that his movie couldn’t compete head-to-head with that.

I had the same thought. However, Tarentino may have been angling for the Star Wars overflow crowd.

It’s not about competing head to head. It’s about honoring a contract. Disney made a deliberate move to $#%^ him on this. He had a contract, his movie is a week later, but Disney threatened to dump from the whole chain if they freed up one screen for his movie. It’s a dick move.
