I carried a 1911 then an M9 in the service.
Carried a 1911 commander for a while as a civilian but as I got older and attire for work changed, I switched to a subcompact 9mm.
Last year, the world started feeling more dangerous and I upgraded to a 10mm double stack pistol, bag carry. But in a world where the bad guys show up with rifles and today with rifles, armor and bombs, any pistol seem pretty anemic.
I'm curious what other freepers carry or are thinking about self defense in the world that Zero has given us.
Sig .380.
Very concealable.
Glock 19, 2 full mags, one a Glock 17 mag with a Pierce spacer.
Glock 20 plus extra mag. Considering keeping a PDW or a full size MBR in the truck plus ammo and mags.
I used to canoe carry.
That turned out badly.
A pistol is to be used to get you out of danger so you can get your rifle.
If you’ve already upgunned to a 10mm, you just need to ensure that you have the right ammunition and spare mags. You’re not going to do much better in a carry gun. IMHO, of course.

S&W M&P Full Size 9mm. It is still concealable, accurate and easily manageable.
I would think that convenience trumps anything regardless. The odds of encountering an armored enemy are extremely low, unless you intend on picking fights with the police.
The risk profile says .380 concealable auto or .38 revolver.
If you like the 10mm I highly recommend DoubleTap Ammo for the best variety of the best 10mm loads out there.
My main carry gun is a .40S&W MP Shield.
I carry a Beretta 380. My husband carries a Glock 9mm. I am thinking of buying a Sig 380 also.

I carry a pistol many different types lately a 5 shot 41mag its hunting season here.
I have rifle of some type in the truck 99 percent of the time one never knows what varmints well run out.
When you see me with armor, web gear on and my carbine on its tac sling you well know things have gone to crap.

Also carry a glock mod 20 with two spare mags when practical, but go with a Romanian TTC with 3 mags back. That 7.62 x 25 round is a real ice pick. Pistol is loud but very accurate.
