Yep - I noticed this thread had more responses than most - because it was about an animal---even the slaughter of Human Babies doesn't elicit as much response to some folks.

Single best way to show a dog who is the "alpha". I have seen mother dogs grab the snout of a willful pup in her mouth. The pup calms down very quickly. I have done this to many of our dogs. They submit and it does not involve spanking, shocking etc... The dog is uncomfortable, but not in pain.
Interesting you mentioned weakening Nato. I listen to books on tape as I fall asleep. I was listening to Clancy’s Red Storm Rising and in the part where the Soviets were making the case for war and how disrupting Nato alliances would assure their victory.
But yeah, I think both will probably back off.
Regarding Assad, I think Russia is doing what we should have done with Iraq, and would have with even McCain: turn one of the countries in that hell-hole into a permanent bass. That area abhors a leadership vacuum. I think President Mohommad Obama was counting on it with Syria and Putin ruined his plans.

About 12 years ago I was headed home from work on a beautiful day and some guy in a kind of beat up ford explorer was driving like a madman trying to pass people behind me, me, and those in front of me. His window was rolled down and he looked to be in his mid 20’s and was dirty, like he had a physical labor type of job. It was a two lane thoroughfare.
The guy got crazier and crazier with his driving and dangerous passing. In fact, it got so bad that I decided to follow the event past my turn. I was rewarded about a half hour later to see him slide off the road and into a dirt hillside on the other side of the deep Seattle suburb ditch, producing a huge cloud of dust. Oh, and he almost hit a pretty young lady that was jogging.
Now, Everyone stopped and tried to subdue the guy. We got him down and I noticed that everyone was treating him as many are treating this lady. He certainly deserved it more. But with five burly men holding him down and swearing at him and making threats, I felt for the guy. He may have lost his job that he desperately needed. He may have been racing home to an injured child. He may have found out his wife was having an affair. Who knows.
The important thing was to keep him there, but the vitriol was really un-necessary.
And I say this as a 62 year old man that has had good days and bad days. We all have. I take very seriously the admonishment to judge not, lest we be judged. I feel confident that if a little cop was following every single person on the planet, we would all - every single one of us - be caught doing things worse than what this woman did at one time or another. And anyone that denies it is a liar.
So I come to the defense of such people against the half witted and emotional barbs slung at them by their fellow human beings. And to further amplify, yes, she deserves the vitriol in the same way we all do, which is why the blood of Christ matters - to every single one of us.

I agree. This is why the duct taping of the dog for a minute is not an issue for me. The emotion based judgmentalism of my fellow freepers is. I expect it from the left. I like to think the right is above it, at least for the most part. We are supposed to have facts and reason on our side. We shun conjecture as we judge events (and not people). And again, I put it in the context of “let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. And who, exactly, made what this woman did a sin in the first place? Who is to say? Who has that authority? Where is the phrase “duct tape” found in any law? How broadly defined do you think our laws should be?
What she deserves. And I am sick and tired of people comparing animal cruelty and murdering babies. It’s moronuc, the one does not excuse the other and both are wrong and need to be combatted. OK? So stop the crap implying THAT people who are concerned about animal cruelty support murdering unborn babies. It’s MORONIC,ignorant and untrue.

Yeah I've handled even Nanny goats in a manner some would call cruel. I'd grab the lead Nanny by the horns and hold her head to the ground till she bleated. I never got butted from behind neither LOL.
The dog in that picture isn't stressed. I know Labs I've had about a half dozen or more in my life. I saved the picture to my computer so I could do a closer look at how the taping was done. It could have been off the dog in seconds.
It seemed to be done as a prank and had it shown up on the music channels under stupid trick shows etc people would have yucked it up. THe person used used duct tape {the wrinkles say as much} and had a folded flap so the end of the tape to get it off fast could be found. No Paw marks on the snout shows the dog wasn't in a panic. The dog is calm. A lot calmer than a bunch of FB viewers LOL.
