I’ve got an older desktop running Windows XP, and recently got a notebook running Windows 10. I’m still getting used to Windows 10; but, it has some good points.
Microsoft stopped supporting XP several months ago; and that is an increasingly inconvenient change for me. You don’t get security upgrades — although I have Norton for that. The biggest problem is that you won’t be able to update various programs. That problem just keeps building up.
If you upgrade to 10, you’ll be assured of support for years to come. If you stick with 7, it you might soon find that it is no longer supported. Anyhow, that’s something to consider.

He is saying... Stop: Don’t: Don’t upgrade beyong 7 (or 8.1). Why would you? That is a real question.
When is the last time you actually needed XP support? Any support from Microsoft anyway? Really?
I’m just phasing out the old computer, so I won’t upgrade it to 7.
The point I was trying to make was that Windows 7 will likely be unsupported before too long. A (free) upgrade to 10 is worth considering, because it will be supported longer. That won’t suit everyone; but it is worth considering.
You probably won’t miss the MS security upgrades (providing you have 3rd party protection); but, you will probably miss being able to upgrade some 3rd party programs. It’s like the operating system suddenly becomes an old clunker, limping along until you take it to the junkyard.
Yes, I understand there are some out there that have no idea about Windows or support and probably need the crutch. The problem is that help is not there, really, it is not really there. That is okay as those that are so out of tune with computers have no chance of excelling or even exceeding expectations these days. That is life!

Ah, come on... operating system running like an old clunker..really? A bit much but at least a dim future maybe...but many years in the future..heh. I’d guess that 90% would never know that a newer operating system was available if not for the massive news stories and would never need upgrading, but such if life. They all have to make money ya know...

I have XP...my friends laugh at me.
I think its time I get a new computer. ha.
With a software called virtual machine. I use VMware Player. I run W7. With VMware I can run W95, W98, W2K or XP. I seldom use it as I have customized W7 to be very similar to XP.

You all should watch this video about disabling Win10 spying. He explained by Win10 is free by saying that (paraphrasing here), ‘Win10 is not the product, YOU are.’ You won’t believe just how big of a window Microsoft and the intel agencies have into your life.
