It is an insult to immigrants who are people who applied to be Americans, paid their fees, waited their turn, learned the language and complied with the laws.

Uh... they are illegal immigrants. An illegal act, also known as a crime, was was committed.

Much like compromising national security is an illegal act, also known as a crime.
