The US President says the young migrants he meets in Kuala Lumpur represent the opposite of the terrorists in Mali and Paris.
US President Barack Obama has delivered a rebuke to conservative critics back home while on a trip to Malaysia by meeting refugee children and declaring: "They're just like our kids."
Mr Obama, who is in the region to attend an economic summit, took time out to visit a Kuala Lumpur school for low-income and migrant students.
He wandered through the classroom asking the neatly dressed children, some of whom have been cleared to resettle in the US, about their hopes for the future.
Back home there is a political backlash against Syrian refugees following the Paris attacks that killed 130 people after it emerged one of the terrorists may have blended in with migrants in Greece.

Speaking of “our kids,” does anyone care about them or their future? Seems like “refugees” and “undocumented immigrants” are the only people who matter anymore.
