Peyton Manning returning to the field in 2015 is highly unlikely
Mile High Report ^ | 19 Nov, 2015 | Tim Lynch

It is starting to look like Peyton Manning may never step onto the field as a starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos again. Personally, I was on the fence with this line of thinking holding out hope Manning would somehow erase the last year and return to form. However, by moving to Brock Osweiler, it's becoming clear that coming back to Manning isn't likely.

An excellent insider piece on ESPN written by Mike Sando hammered this point home with several interviews from NFL executives and evaluators around the league, which paints a portrait of where John Elway's mindset is during this season.

Manning has been set up to succeed, not fail Pete Baron Five reasons Brock's Broncos are still top-five Kelly Fleming First, for the "win from now on" ethos Elway lives by, he has to commit to Osweiler now. Said one evaluator, "You have to commit to Osweiler. If you play him, you have to go with what he wants to do. Brock would have to really play bad for them to go back. He is a free agent at the end of the year. If he plays well enough, that could be an interesting situation. They can find out if he is a guy for the future. There is a lot going on there."

Not a bad record. If I were in elways place (notice I DID NOT say if I were elway, spit, spit) I would have brought in Manning to ne QB for the few years left and kept Tebow to be backup and to be mentored by manning to eventually take over. Screw the liberal sports journalists.

St. Vincent Ferrer, pray for us. Miracle worker. My favorite miracle of St. Vincent was when a construction worker fell off a scaffold and started falling down toward the street. St. Vincent told him to freeze and wait. He then ran to the convent, got permission to do another miracle, ran back to the building and then floated the worker safely onto the ground. Phew. Even the worker was suprrised while stuck in mid-air waiting for St. Vincent to return.

Back to the NFL. I agree. Mr. Manning is a most excellent qb. I thought he would stick around in order to break some records which is selfish. Dropping out because of injury must be heartbreaking for him. I will miss him playing in the NFL.

That was my opinion too. I really didn’t think Manning would last this long. I was expecting him to go half a season and then hurt his neck again. This injury isn’t as dramatic, but its a sign he can’t take a full season of punishment anymore.

Hey everybody, did the news get around
About a guy named Butcher Pete?
Oh, Pete just flew into this town
And he’s chopping up all the women’s meat

He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He’s hackin’ and wackin’ and smackin’
He just hacks, wacks, chopping that meat

Butcher Pete’s got a long sharp knife
He starts chopping and don’t know when to stop
All you fellows got to watch your wifes
Because Pete don’t care whose meat he chops

Ever since Peter flew into town
He’s been having a ball
Just cutting and chopping for miles around
Single women, married women, old maids and all

Wakes up in the morning, half past five
Chops from sunrise to sunset
I don’t see how he stays alive
Meat’s going to be the death of ol’ Pete, yeah

The police put Pete in jail
Yes, he finally met his fate
But when they came to pay his bail
They found him chopping up his cellmate

That Butcher Pete is a crazy man
Tries to chop down the wind and the rain
Just hacks on anything he can get
Say, turn this record over, you ain’t heard nothing yet

He was lucky to break Favre’s record. Colts made the correct decision based on the info they had at the time. Most thought his career was done in 2012.

Like Brett Favre and Dan Marino, Peyton Manning hung around too long. It was embarrassing watching his poor play this year and all those interceptions. He should have been benched weeks ago.

Hopefully Tom Brady will be smart enough to retire when he is still on top.

Pretty sure if Tebow played 15 plus years his stats would not compare. I watched every game Peyton played in his last 6 years with the Colts. We can blather on about play off games but he literally carried that franchise on his back.

And I love both guys. I get sick of the Peyton dogging because he is not Tebow.

Let the record state: I hate the Patriots and Tom Brady’s peak not seeing it’s crest yet is flat out scary.

It would be moot as A) he probably would not win a game and B) as of the end of the season Tom Brady will only be 10 games behind in regular season wins. Farve has 2 more post season wins. Tom will surpass Farves 199 wins with a Superbowl victory.

I’m a Pats fan, but I have the highest regard and respect for Peyton - one of the all time greats.
If he is done, and I truly hope not, Belichick should hire him as the QB coach at NE...who better to coach Tom Brady than his greatest adversary?

But Eli has the bragging rights.

Super Bowl Wins: Eli 2....Peyton 1

And more importantly.....

Wins against the Florida Gators: Eli 2 Peyton 0.

Elway and the Broncos can do what they want with the team. With that said, they are idiots for not keeping the same offense of the last two years in place with Manning at the helm. The reason they didn’t go to or win the Super bowl is their defense wasn’t good enough. Their offense this year is mismanaged and atrocious in this very astute football mans opinion. Peyton may not be the QB he once was, but he is as good once, as he ever was.

The focus on the run has ruined the passing timing. The opposing teams seem to be able to guess the lame play calling.

Well, I guess that means Manning is done then. No sense in taking Brock Osweiler out of the starting position. He is the future and needs the experience.
