It is grossly unfair and inaccurate to compare the Marxists now running Western Europe and North America to Neville Chamberlain.

Agreed! My point instead was to show that appeasement (dignity and respect, in Madonna's words) rarely works against fascists of any stripe.

I actually have sympathy for Chamberlain. He was a decent man, trying to keep the peace as best he could. His fatal flaw, of course, was that he very much underestimated Hitler.
