Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Sunday said he would not want someone such as Donald Trump to be commander in chief.
Mr. Carson said Mr. Trump, the front runner for the GOP presidential nomination, acted rashly last week when he immediately gave credence to news reports that Mr. Carson had fabricated parts of his life story as told in the book 'Gifted Hands,' which chronicled his rise from severe poverty in a Detroit ghetto to become an acclaimed neurosurgeon.
Mr. Trump tweeted that the reports exposed 'one of many lies' by Mr. Carson and called it the 'beginning of the end' of the Carson campaign.
'What does it say about people who immediately jump on the bandwagon when they hear something bad rather than waiting and finding out what the truth is?' Carson asked.
'Let me put it this way,' Mr. Carson said. 'I would not be anxious to have a commander in chief who acted that way.'
Mr. Carson has remained Mr. Trumps closest rival in the polls for weeks.
The news reports raised questions about Mr. Carsons claims that he was offered a scholarship to West Point and whether he tried to stab a classmate in a schoolyard brawl. Mr. Carson has fiercely defended all of the details of his life story.
Mr. Trump, who followed Mr. Carson on the show, said that the stories of violence from Mr. Carsons childhood were disturbing, whether true or fabricated.
'Look, I hope it all works out for him. Its a strange situation, though, when you talk about hitting your mother in the head with a hammer and hitting your friend in the face with a padlock, when you talk about stabbing somebody but the [belt buckle] saved them,' Mr. Trump said.

Seems it works both ways. Carson isn’t nearly aggressive enough.
If you think this person is anything to write home about, you best think again....
Trump said to Bill O’Reilly the other night on his program that ‘Ben has a patholicial behavior’ and I think we can see what he means...
Read some of the things about him, and then ask yourself this question: ‘Do you want Hillary to run this Country?’ I certainly don't want that killer, lying wicked -itch anywhere around the White House again!!!
Yeah the pacifist 7th Adventist is going to be commander in chief? laughable.
And this is exactly why a Trump/Cruz style ticket works
I think Carson would sign off on whatever war plans are presented before him.
My concern with Trump is that his worldview generally excludes God. He’s a modern day Nebuchadnezzar, successful, powerful, but self-sufficient.
I don’t think his view has the completeness that a religious upbringing should bring.
Say what you will about Trump, but that man is a machine and all business. The drive and focus on the task at hand is really impressive.
With Hillary’s temperament and lies either one of them is better qualified than her.
I didn’t know Jesus was black, but then being Hebrew, I doubt he had blond hair and blue eyes either.
Just ask yourself who would you rather have dealing with Russia, ISIS and China.
So? Trump and Carson have different temperaments with pros and cons to each. Either would be fine. I, however, am voting for neither because of their positions on issues important to me. It has nothing to do with their God given temperaments.
If I did not know better I would think this is satire on Carson’s part.
I had to laugh when I read the headline!
I don’t want Carson any where near the White House. He would be Obama and Carter rolled into one.
Is it the pulse Carson is objecting to?
And this is exactly why a Trump/Cruz style ticket works
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
While I would love to see this ticket win, I don’t think it is electable. Trump would need to broaden the ticket. Together they are too narrow in focus.
We may have to compromise a bit on the VP, because we absolutely cannot afford another 8 years of Globalist Elite Liberalism.
I used to think Carson, but not anymore. He’s just too wacky. It would have to be someone who is not running now.
Right back at you, Ben.
“Is it the pulse Carson is objecting to?”
LOL!
This sounds like a retort to Trump’s allegation that Carson, like Bush, has little energy.
Regrettably, even Carson’s retort is weak.
