Discussing the Black Lives Matter movement and racial reconciliation, Glenn Beck said Wednesday on his television show that the country needs to “atone†for its past.
“I know a lot of people disagree with this — they’re still yelling about slavery — I’m sorry, dude, 600,000 people, most of them white, lost their lives,†Beck said. “The country was washed in blood and Abraham Lincoln was willing to lose it all … against slavery.â€

“We just changed from slavery to something else, … but there was no atonement there,†he said.

How many times do we have to say that slavery that was practiced all over the world hundreds of years ago was wrong and abhorrent? Is there anyone who thinks it was good? One can’t change the past and no one alive had anything to do with slavery conducted in the past.
Now .. hut how about working towards getting rid of adult and child slavery that is STILL being practiced today in many parts of the world? Sure .. maybe we can’t make muslims and Africans change but we can sure isolate them and at leats not subsidize it.

He’s not even talking about slavery in that article. He saying that we need to atone them because of treatment after slavery .
Why? As individuals we are responsible our own actions, we’re not responsible collectively for actions done by others in the past
The fact is that NOTHING would satisfy the permanently aggrieved class. NOTHING! So if nothing will satisfy them, why give them anything?

I don’t even think it’s fair to call them reparations. That implies it would be repairing something. In reality they take the money and then still claim they were wronged owed, and not yet equal .

Psychologically, this rant makes little to no sense. Particularly for those MILLIONS of Americans who had kin who fought in the War Between the States, for the Union States or for the Southern States. Did a lot of good and should continue with education, vis-a-vis socialism and the political spectrum with the Left (inclusive of national socialist Germany), the Holodomor and the NKVD and Stalinism.
But for God’s sake .... the country has “Atoned” enough with white guilt, the War on Poverty (one trillion useless dem machine dollars later) and a host of other programs specific to one racial group. While all others have assimilated and prospered outside of govt. largesse.
I thought Beck died a couple years ago from some illness that Imus’s wife wasn’t able to cure holistically.

Beck has obviously been blackmailed or something along those lines for him to change his entire worldview. Beck has shifted to positions diametrically opposed those who made up his viewership. There’s more than meets the eye going on here. I guarantee it.
