An Israeli friend had a family member who had a similar experience.
The family member owned a store. A Palestinian came in, went back into the store. He probably intended to blow himself up in the check-out line, but his suicide vest triggered prematurely while he was back in the store. The bomb seemed to have only fizzled, because only the false ceiling was buckled and some of the lighting fixtures were damaged.
The bomber was on the floor, alive but badly injured. He was struggling to do something with his hands.
A nearby shopper immediately pulled out a 9mm pistol and emptied it into the bomber’s head.
