STUDENTS DEMAND ‘RACIST’ CECIL RHODES STATUE TORN DOWN, HISTORY REWRITTEN
Breitbart ^ | November 4, 2015 | Liam Deacon

Students at the University of Oxford will hold a demonstration to “demand the glorifying statue of Cecil Rhodes – a brutal, racist colonial oppressor – be taken down” from a historic, grade one listed building.

The protest has been organised by the #RhodesMustFallOxford campaign, set up in July, which describes itself as “a movement for the decolonisation of the curriculum, institutional memory and culture, and overall educational space at Oxford.” The students, at one of the best universities in the world, claim to be “oppressed.”

If Oxford gets rid of Rhodes then the endowment behind the Rhodes Scholarship should be liquidated. Rhodes set up the scholarship because he thought WASP Americans were brothers of the Anglos and therefore should jointly rule the world with the British. The scholarship is just as symbolic of racism as the statue.

Wish I was back in college and knew everything again.

Then again, maybe not.

When these students are older and their society is no longer relatively safe and orderly they will never make the connection between their miserable condition and how their actions way back in college contributed to it.

The nation is getting close to needing to replace the Eagle with a weenie as a national symbol.

Aaah!

But what a lesson that will be for them, that “college” could never replicate!

Isn’t Clinton’s husband a Rhodes scholar? I see the children at Oxford stole the old 60s hippy rant, “The (whole) World is Watching”. I guess they left out the word “whole” because they couldn’t get a consensus of whether it was spelled whole or hole.

At Oxford, that would be the lion :-) but the students do not reflect the nation that voted in a Conservative majority, any more than the students here will reflect a nation voting in a conservative president next year.

I wonder which country was run better: Rhodesia or Zimbabwe?

One had a currency, and the other does not.

One was able to feed its citizens, and the other can not.

One had fewer innocents murdered, and the other does not.

Time for the students of Oxturd to act like the Taliban and destroy the history and heritage they don’t like.

Absolutely correct. It is rare as a Bigfoot sighting to see a liberal learn from past mistakes. When their policy ideas result in failures (e.g., BlackLivesMatters resulting in inner city anarchy and more black deaths) they double down and deny that their actions caused these problems. They will insist to their dying breath that conservative actions were the cause. Their creed: Communism works wonderfully - it just has not been implemented correctly. Yet.

They are deranged.

If only there was a way to avoid being dragged down with them.

Logically the students should demand their countries be the returned to the way Rhodes and explorers found them. The students should go back to their countries and try to establish a civilization without western influence. All western buildings and inventions in their home countries should be destroyed.

That's only fair to rid themselves of the curse of western civilization. They'll look fine standing outside their mud huts.

Stupid commie punks.

African nations never had it so good as when they were colonies of Britain, France, or Belgium.

Now they are all wastelands.

Ironically, conspiracy theorists believe Cecil Rhodes was one of those rich guys who was Secretly Behind Communism. And Rhodes Scholars tend to be left wing globalists.

Don't you love it when the Left eats its own?

Just realizing that these totally ignorant students are ignorant of history is mind-boggling.

The only "liberated" colonial country that comes close to "second world status" is India.

Why are ALL other previous colonies world wide all pretty much criminal basket case hellholes?

D'OH!!
