I just finished reading a short piece about The Donald's plan to fix the VA medical care system. It seemed that the corner stone of his plan is to allow veterans to get medical help outside the VA hospital system. He is a little late to that party, it's already policy. I don't know if he just came up with a great idea someone already thought of, or is trying to snag a little credit for someone else's work.

Correctomundo! Time to DUMP 'em ALL!
Are you a vet and can just go to any medical center for treatment?
Now that is heartbreaking to read. I’m in agreement with you, everyone I have spoken to in person or by phone, has been as incompetent as the one before.
I thought the idiots who run any arm of the welfare state were horrid, and they are, but these VA employees are void of an ounce of decency.
(The welfare gig was in helping my sister who had worked 3 jobs her entire life and run into major health problems. Getting her the assistance she qualified for was a damn joke.)
Trumps plan has zero provision for changing anything that will make a difference. They still have to go through the VA to get the card, then they are eligible to go somewhere else. And, yes, I do have experience, recent experience. Trump has made many blanket statements about what he would do. Now that he gives specifics, it looks like he doesn’t have a plan, just an idea, no different from any of the others. He does seem to have a much more cult like following that Barack himself.
Ya just wanta slap her...........Little snot
Now, that is a good idea. It would be comparatively easy to implement. It is not part of Trump’s plan. Call it a hit piece or not, his ideas are not very good on this one.
You mean Medicaid. Medicare is reserved for seniors.
Which goes to the point of the need to fix the systemic issues. That’s the focus of his plan.
Hire more vets that actually care about other vets, fire incompetent managers, modernize the booking and management systems.
Also note that every hospital faces different staffing and patient population management concerns. Some have plenty of room, and some are at risk. San Francisco faces different challenges than Orlando, and Dallas is analagous to neither, etc.
For the hospitals and clinics with impacted populations, allow the use of out of system doctors without time comsuming and ridiculous hurdles. The system itself should flex to meet the needs of the vets, not force the vets to meet the needs of the VA.
Or, if someone just wants to ‘keep their doctor’ ... if that doctor accepts medicare, that doctor can be accessed readily.
This plan is almost commom sense at its core. I dont understand the resistance.
Good idea.
So because you dont like trump all his ideas are bad...
He addressed your concern if you read the plan. Change the system, modernize and increase efficiency, hire vets that actually care about other vets.
Your resistance seems to be not the message, but the messenger.
Great post! Send it to Trump.
...Enroll Vets in Tricare and close all VA medical facilities....use Tricare...close VA facilities.
Great idea.
Any idea how hard it would be to fire all the thousands of federal employee nurses, other medical support, office, and building maintenance and support staff?
No, are you Donald Trump?
About as hard as firing the 40,000 soldiers Obama is cutting loose?
Yes.
