INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis Metro Police officers say "multiple" people were injured in a shooting inside Washington Square Mall on the Indianapolis east side.
It's happening at 10202 E. Washington Street. Several police cars are currently parked outside the southeast entrance of the mall, near the Target store.
Police say three, maybe four, people were struck by gunfire. Their conditions are unknown.
The mall, a former Simon Malls property, is now operated by Jones Lang Lasalle.
An Indianapolis woman tweeted this post about being injured in the shooting, but so far WTHR has not confirmed details of any injuries.

All these shootings are going to affect guns laws sooner or later.
Either more or less. I don’t believe we have always had this problem and we just hear more about it because of 24/7 news.

I won’t say where my suspicions are, because I don’t know, but what is happening is a revolution from all sides and going out at all, any time, now has risks in the USA.

Washington Square has been in decline for a decade.
After the factories closed, all of the apartments in the area have gone Section 8 in the last 8 years.
There has been a HUGE spike in crimes in this area since.
You’d think this is important enough for the local tv stations to go to breaking news instead of regularly scheduled programming.

Probably the absolute safest place in Indy to have a meal, right now.
I know the federal powers aren’t trying to calm things down, racially. In fact, it’s seems just the opposite!

That’s a shame. Another dead inner city mall. They either get burned out, vandalized, robbed or shot up. Like Ferguson.
I did not see the word “Teen”, so though I know little about the regional demographics of Indianapolis, can I safely assume the word “East” can mean something similar to the word “south” would be used in Chicago?

Looks like a third tier mall. Anchors appear to be Burlington, Sears, and Target. Other stores listed included Dicks, Radio Shack, a couple of spas, and a massage parlor.
Malls are done. Can't be secured.
