Congrats to the Mets. That 7 NLCS game losses in a row for the Cubs and 4 in row at Wrigley.
Did you see the AWFUL baseball movie “Rookie of the Year”? In it some kid falls on his arm and suddenly has a 150MPH fastball so he becomes the Cubs closer (they don’t even teach him how to throw a strike first). And at the end they show him with a Cubs World series ring on. I think the NLCS in the film was even against the Mets.
The C-list actor who starred, on his own apparently, decided to show up today to cheer on the Cubs, wearing a jersey with his character’s name on it. That’s bad juju. What they needed was Michael J. Fox or at least the guy that played Biff.
The good news: CHC’s going to get over the hump soon, they’re built to be perennially in the mix.
The bad news: I don’t see the MYM repeating; this is a truly incredible streak they’re on.
I did not see that flick, it looked bad in the previews.
This whole “Back To The Future” stuff is ehhh.

It occurs to me that the 2015 that Marty visited in the movie was altered when Marty failed to get into that car accident he was supposed to have. Maybe the driver of the other car was killed in original reality and that driver went on to father one of the Mets star players, thus preventing the Cubs from winning. ;-)
They will contend next year and SHOULD for the foreseeable future.
They need more starting pitching though if they’re gonna go all the way. Lester is “eh” at this point, can’t count on him. And Arietta, did he really find his grove and become an elite pitcher ala Randy Jackson (who was rather mediocre until his late 20’s) or did he just have a great year and will he backslide?

I like the Mets, but I’ve called them a one year wonder already. CHC should be serious WS contenders for the next 3-5,6 years. They have too much young talent not to be.
I meant Randy JOHNSON of course, not that fat black guy from American Idol. ;-p
