People who cannot be trusted to not misuse firearms cannot be trusted with being in society; it is part of the social contract that is the basis for our Constitution.
Anyone who can’t be trusted to bear arms should not be running around loose.
The people that shouldn’t have them will always have them. There is no law that will change that.

America needs mental institutions where patients get real care and are not simply warehoused.
Today we have “medical” facilities that are intended for general health issues for those needing care, and these are being used for dumping the mentally ill.
Better yet how are we going to keep booze from the people who shouldn’t drink and end up killing 20,000 or more a year in car accidents and add in spousal and child abuse caused by the drunks
I don't understand giving a driver's license to someone that is believed to be too irresponsible to own a firearm.

There are a lot of people who drive drunk who shouldn’t have access to beer, wine, or hard liquor, too.
Starting with employees of about 40 or 50 Federal Agencies who now have the right to carry.
If the originator is correct:
First, no immigrant or illegal invader is allowed to own one, because they are not availed the rights of citizenry. Should they be found with one, lock them up for good, or deport them FOR GOOD, with a price on their head, open to any citizen to collect. Should these folks be found to be part of any major criminal activity, our laws do not apply, and they should be eliminated.
Second, reopen the mental institutions, and place those that have been allowed to roam this country unabetted, back in them.
Third, any doctor that is lax in reporting any real mental illness, as has been noted in a few of these mass shootings, incarcerate THEM for crimes against humanity, for good.
Fourth, remove all ‘blanket gotchas’ against military veterans that have been placed on them by the obama administration, as a punitive action to prevent gun ownership, and place THOSE doctors under NUMBER THREE.
I admit there are those who cannot fend for themselves, and must have daily care given to them for them to survive. I admit, that there are those in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease, along with having to give up their driving privileges, just might have to give this up, as well, to prevent any accidents to others, or to prevent self-inflicted wounds.
The idiot in the video is a closet leftist. Just beyond the 7 minute mark in the video he says that the 2nd amendment was intended for a true militia, like the National Guard. He’s wrong.
