PITTSBURGH -- The Pirates already knew the what, who and when. Now, they know where. The Bucs will host the National League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser at 8 p.m. ET (on TBS) on Wednesday at PNC Park.

Pittsburgh clinched home-field advantage in the NL's win-or-go-home showdown for the third straight year by beating the Reds, 4-0, in Game 162 on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. The Cubs beat the Brewers, 3-1, but the Pirates' victory -- their 98th of the season -- kept them one game ahead in the standings.

The Pirates finished the season 98-64, the Majors' second-best record and Pittsburgh's highest win total since capturing the NL East title in 1991. At 97-65, the Cubs finished with the third-best record in baseball -- but they will be on the road with their season on the line Wednesday night.

"They'd be in first place in any other division. We'd be in first place in any other division," Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said Sunday afternoon. "We're going to face off in a one-game Wild Card [Game] on Wednesday."........

Many moons ago, I remember big ole Dave Parker belting one out of Dodger Stadium to the point where even Dodger fans gave him a standing-0...I’d never seen one whacked so far.

Thing you mean Willie Stargell? He did it twice, don’t recall Dave Parker ever doing it.

Yankees got the home field for the AL wild card game, by Houston losing today.

Kris Bryant of Cubs finished with 99 RBIs.

Bryce Harper lost the NL batting crown by Dee Gordon getting 3 hits.

Indians won to go 81-80.

Baseball dude, you forgot the Phillies won today and didn’t get 100 losses, for me as a Phillie Phan that would have been their greatest accomplishment this year, oh well there is always next year.

I should’ve listed that.

I listen to the Phillies on WPHT-1210 (strong signal in my part of NC). They’ve been talking about 100 losses for the past couple of weeks.

Congrats Phillies!

I was hoping he’d get 100 RBIs, but he had none in the last two games.

But Anthony Rizzo got 2 today to finish at 101. Too bad he can’t give one to Kris.

They have to get past the best picture in baseball first. Should be a good game... What a division.

I liked the mid-’60s Pirates.

Clemente - Stargell - Clendenon murderers’ row.

To think that the Pirates and Cubs, both had better records than all of the other Division Winners in MLB.
