WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An employee at a West Hartford Dunkin Donuts is in hot water after she told a police officer “We don’t serve cops here.”
The officer walked into the busy store at 1234 Farmington Avenue to wait in line to order. As he waited, an employee looked over at the officer and shouted “He didn’t get the message, we don’t serve cops here.”
The officer then left the store followed quickly by the employee herself and the store manager. Both offered apologies to the officer with the employee who shouted the statement saying that she was only joking.

The left gets away with the “joke” excuse. Normal people don’t.
My daughter always says “I was only joking” when she is caught red-handed.

If I owned that Dunkin’ Donuts franchise, I would have fired that stupid b*tch on the spot.
Then I would have invited every cop in town to the donut shop for free coffee and donuts, paid for out of my own pocket.
No more Dunkin Donuts for me.

When I worked nights at a convenience store, it was policy that cops and security got free coffee. The free security that comes from that pays for the coffee.

Incidents of this sort seem to be occurring on a regular basis, which suggests that management types at these various venues are out of touch with what’s going on in the real world.
One our neighbors is a franchisee for a major fast-food chain and, after one of these episodes came to his attention, he put out a memo to all employees stating that any refusal of service to uniformed individuals (police, fire, military) would result in immediate termination—no explanations accepted.
Ditto.
But if I were that cop I'd get my coffee elsewhere anyway so I didn't have to wonder what more indirect indications of disdain my coffee may contain.
And in other news: Dunkin Donuts is closing 100 stores.
I don’t know, could be.
West Hartford is quite a she-she town...and this kind of treatment in unthinkable, based on the upper-crust dwellers there.
The location of this franchise is on an avenue that flows between the urban hell of Hartford and affluent West Hartford. It doesn’t look like it has a drive-thru. Maybe it’s on the list. Schadenfreude.

I’m pretty sure this was the employee acting on her own.
A retired cop friend of mine owns a Dunkin Donut franchise and I know he wouldn’t put up with this.
I think the kid thought she was being “Cute” and just like the stupid lib women from Massachusetts at the tomb of the unknown soldier she needs to be taught a lesson.
