Texas: Muslim teen blames his “BOMB HOAX” on “islamophobia,” Obama invites him to White House
pamelageller.com ^ | September 16, 2015 | Pamela Geller

A Muslim teen bought a strange ticking device to his high school that set off alarms and fear. The student was detained for having what resembled a bomb. Officers said the clock and wires inside his Vaultz pencil case looked like a hoax bomb to them. When questioned about the device was, the student, Ahmed Mohamed, wouldn’t answer. Now terror-tied Islamic groups like Hamas-CAIR, their media lapdogs and even President Obama are waging jihad against the school.

This whole thing smells like a set-up. With ISIS in America, and young moderate Muslims are fleeing to Syria to join the terror group, the Irving school’s response was rational and reasonable. I run news stories on a weekly basis of American Muslim teens arrested for trying to join ISIS. Just this week, a Philly Muslim teen was arrested for a plot to assassinate the Pope on his US visit.

I only pinged you because I had to quote you, in order to frame the statement I was chiefly responding to, which was the response given to your statement.

I did so to keep everything straight as to who was saying what, to preclude what little I had quoted from you to being mistakenly attributed to someone else.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have pinged you to the comment I made, at all. It really wasn't directed towards you, anyway.

You sound unsure.

But angry, and foul-mouthed.

You have some other problem with me? Spit it out.

Can you even express it? Do you know yourself, or do you function on emotions like some silly woman?

I can express myself quite well thank you. You used phrases like ‘Pry the ice cream cone off your head’’ and ‘’developmentally disabled’’. Pal, when someone speaks to me that way it gets my back up RIGHT AWAY, you dig? Where do get off talking to me like that? I don’t know you are.

That part was addressed to the other individual to whom I was responding to.

He or she dragged me to this thread from a previous thread.

I was responding to THAT person's comment, yet since I quoted you -- I had to ping you.

Do you get it now?

And now, because of the over-reaction, if this was all intended, instead of just being some geeky teenage fiddling with low-grade consumer electronics -- which is still strongly possible is all it was --- the kid goes to the White House, and momentum is gained against 'profiling' of Islamics, which profiling is the very thing which you say you support.

Congratulations. If this was deliberate, they played you for a fool, and had you knee-jerk reacting just like they would have wanted, causing you to shoot your own cause (which I have some amount of sympathy for) right in the foot!

Pry the ice cream cone off your forehead, before posting, and I'll stop thinking of you as developmentally disabled, as for this single 'story' in the news cycle. We've got to be smarter, more cunning than our adversaries.

Never do what the adversary WANTS one to do. Or at least -- do it in a way he won't like, or be able to take advantage of.

I seriously doubt that you realize that you've dug the hole you were in, even deeper...

xactly

LOoks like this wasn't a genuine science/engineering project. but an "art project" designed to demostrate what a bunch of gullible nervous nellies Murricans are.

Mission accomplished!

It's so very good to have an Australian critique the United States of America. /s

For the record, we are AMERICANS not "Murricans", a term of disdain favored by the left.

If it was a science project, I get the impression it wasn't one which was assigned.

It was more like the kid was trying to show off, that he could figure out how to rig a power supply and possibly & needed transformer to the inner workings of a consumer electronics digital clock, which for whatever reason he decided would fit well in a metal pencil box he likely had laying around.

He was a little weird about it all, but then the kid likely is a little bit weird, naturally.

Or else it was all a big set-up, deliberately.

I'm not convinced of that.

But if it was, then the North American Imans Federation got what they were aiming for, instead of this being just something of an organic accident which broke in their favor.

It’s how we in Oz pronounce it. You Shermans will just have to live with it.

Interesting and thanks. Accents here in America vary widely according to region. In Australia, is there much of a difference in dialect, say, between New South Wales and Western Australia?

Not a lot (pronunciation of  "castle" excepted)

Main difference between states is the individual name each gives to the manufactured sausage you call "baloney"

I have a female friend (Platonic) from Melbourne and I greatly enjoy her accent, notably pronouncing “okay” as if were “eye-kay” (a long “I” on the first syllable). One thing I’ve noticed over the years is the vast improvement in telecommunications. Just 20 or so years prior, a Texas to Melbourne phone conversation was a challenge with long longs and the echo.
