This happened 30 years ago, so...
I was skiing in the Poconos, fell and slid into a tree striking my right thigh just below hip bone level. The pain was manageable but the next day my upper leg was completely bruised from hip bone to knee except for a small white steak on the inside of my leg below the crotch. That’s when I went to the doctor because I thought I’d blown out an artery or something really bad. He assured me it was just a hematoma, and it would be fine.
He also gave me a prescription for something that helped dissolve the clotting...some kind of enzyme...very small pills. Did wonders. It had my leg “yellowing” and returning to a natural color in no time.
Another time, I had an accident that resulted in a huge black eye and face. I asked the doctor about those pills (different doc). Her prescribed the same thing.
Note: I’m not a doctor, nor did I sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

When I was a kid, the topical medication that seemed to work the best on swelling and bruising was tincture of arnica. It's now tough to find the strong tinctures that were common back then, but there are more diluted tinctures, along with creams and gels that should help. Don't be put off by some of the products being sold as equine or veterinary supplies. That's just the plain stuff, sold without the homeopathic remedy marketing spin and added herbal fragrances. Amazon has overnight delivery.
Hey, even John Wayne called for the stuff, after a fistfight scene in McLintock!, so it must be worthwhile. :-)

Well, looks like they have you “terrorized” and you were not even there. “They” have won the battle AND will win the war if white folk act as you are. STAND FAST dammit and you’ll see how frightened the animals really are at heart... jeesh.

I went downtown two weeks ago, it was still daylight but the spidey senses were tingling, and I didn’t even park.
Denver just isn’t a great place to be anymore.

Cold, not freezing will help reduce swelling, but time is the only real cure.

My LEO friends tell me that the Mayor has put pressure on the local radio and news papers to not report the number of assaults.Sounds like a good place for armed citizens to do a little predator hunting; the decoy and the gunner.

There is also a product that you need a prescription for and it works well. See: MINOR INJURIES pmj.bmj.com/content/37/424/96.full.pdfPostgraduate Medical Journal by MCT Morrison - 1961 - Cited by 1 - Related articles (VARIDASE) IN THE TREATMENT OF ... STREPTOKINASE/STREPTODORNASE has been used for some time as a local ... cedema and bruising when absorbed via the buccal mucosa. ... 2 cases of 'black eye' subsided completely in.

My LEO friends have said that the down town situation has changed considerably in the last few months.
...
Hmmm, what possibly could have caused that?

Does a week of surf and turf and salads sound good? Ask your doctor about increasing your protein and shellfish (zinc) intake and use of a zinc supplement and/or Vitamin C and Vitamin K topical creams. Vit Bs are the stress vitamins so that’s another Vit to ask about. An overnight stay at a nice hotel with room service is a good stress vitamin, too, and a night swim in the cool pool may help with swelling. Ask your doctor about any possible interactions with your current medications before you try anything.

Pineapple (bromelain enzyme), and parsley, witch hazel and apple cider vinegar compresses are mentioned in this article. Again, discuss with your doctor before trying:

I hope you feel better soon.
