Marin County Mansion Sells for Record-Breaking $47.5 Million

It's a booming week for Marin County real estate, thanks to the sale of one prominent piece of property.

Belvedere's historic estate Locksley Hall sold on Wednesday for $47.5 million.

That's $22 million over than any previous home sold in Marin County and $12 million more than the highest home sale in San Francisco, according to Curbed SF.

The listing described Locksley Hall, built in 1904, as a three-level home with approximately 9,235 square feet of living space. It has four bedrooms, six full bathrooms, three powder rooms and a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment.

San Jose Mercury News reported that the former owners spent $32 million to renovate the property in the nine years prior to the sale.

Obama wants to building housing areas for blacks in white areas. This neighborhood looks like a good place to start.

This BS that Obama wants to force on taxpayers won’t impact liberal areas like the bay area. The liberals are the ones that put the POS in office. They’re the ones that should receive the what they wanted for the rest of us.

Love that area this time of the year. Take the ferry to Angel Island, climb to the top. Back to Sausalito for drinks. Weather and views, outstanding.

What are “white areas?”

Suburbs. White Flight. Areas where working class white families hope to flee to get away from all the black violence.

Good working class black families want to flee to those areas too to get away from all the violence. Obama wants to dump housing projects in the middle of their neighborhoods.

Tiburon/Belvedere is very nice.

Great views as well.

Used to go down there for brunch at Sam’s on Sundays.

Hike in Muir Woods or Marin Headlands, then head to Mountain Home Inn on the Panoramic Highway for lunch and drinks on the patio. Be sure to hit Bar Bocce in Suasalito...great spot our son took us to for Father’s Day. Try the Hill 88 hike for spectacular views of SF, Pt Reyes, the Golden Gate and all the coast.

Some more random ideas for you...

Add Nature Friends Tourist Club in Marin. I haven’t gone to any of their open houses, but they sound like great fun. They are getting too popular and crowded, unfortunately, from what I’ve read.

Cowgirl Creamery at Pt. Reyes. Best cheese ever! Fantastic cookbook, too.

I always enjoyed the drive down to Stinson Beach in Marin, winding along atop the palisades down into the town.

Carving up Highway 1 in a sport convertible is always a good time.

Turn at the intersection where the 2 AM Club sits in Mill Valley and take that road to get there.

Stinson Beach itself is interesting, too, sort of old California beach town largely unscathed and some stunning residential properties, stratospheric prices. They have a very nice, broad sandy public beach. What’s with all the sharks though?

I used to cook breakfast for the tourists in downtown Tiburon, right where that marina is. New Morning Cafe was a well loved place back in the day.
