Hurricane Danny fizzles: Why are there fewer big hurricanes?

The US is in a historic hurricane drought, according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. The fading of Hurricane Danny, which peaked as a Category 3 storm over the Atlantic, came as no surprise Saturday.

ATLANTA — Hurricane Danny, a small hurricane that at one point reached Category 3 status as it moved across from Africa toward the Leeward Islands, has weakened quickly and by Sunday should be reduced to tropical storm status. An unusually strong atmospheric wind shear can be seen on satellite images Saturday literally whisking the storm away.

To be sure, Danny remains a dangerous development. Slated to hit the Virgin Islands early in the week, the storm could still cause wind-and-rain damage to island interests. But its days as a hurricane are likely over as El-Nino-fueled shearing winds discombobulate its core, weakening it in the process.

High of about 75 in August one day last week. Obvious proof of global warming.

Hurricane season is just starting to reach the traditional peak. We should wait til the end of September before jumping on this.

The ice caps and glaciers are melting

Well, they are as long as no one looks at the actual data.

LOL, ain't that the truth.

The weatherman says it's only going to the mid 70's all next week here in southern Ohio.......

Go figure....

seems like this has played before.....namely Hurricane Andrew. it came significantly across then “fizzled out”, it actually did disappear, that is until that small hurricane suddenly re-appeared and wrecked south Florida, totally destroying Homestead AFB. so, deja vu anyone?

It never hurts to rub in a world record in the faces of the Leftist scam artists.

as El-Nino-fueled shearing winds discombobulate its core

I can truly sympathize... I don't know about you, but I certainly hate it when El-Nino-fueled shearing winds discombobulate my core...

A while back they had a record number of days of over 100 degrees.

I lived in the DFW Metroplex at the time. I think it was 54 days in a row of 100+ temps. It was around 1980-83, but I don’t recall the exact year.

The last time I was discombobulated I couldn't sleep for 5 days, it was pure Hell!

I'm better since I took anti-discombobulation pills and gave up broccoli.

*You’d think the LIV would eventually catch on to their con game*

I think a lot of it is also because people forget that air conditioning in cars and homes is much more common than it was even 25-30 yrs ago. In the seventies air conditioning was still a luxury for the most part. I have lived all my life in coastal Alabama/Mississippi. It’s always been hot and humid here. I can remember us having just 1 window unit and it was in our living room. I don’t remember feeling like I was burning up playing in my room, which didn’t happen unless it was raining or at night. I never wanted to be inside, no matter how hot it was,and most other kids didn’t either.

Neither one of my grandmother’s had any air conditioning because it was too expensive on the power bill plus they grew up without it. I can remember them complaining about our house being too cold.

Plus none of the cars we had throughout the 70’s had air conditioning, that’s what vent windows were for.

I think we’ve all just got wussified by air conditioning. It’s just as hot as its always been here.

Time to rework the MGW theory to make it fit the data - like that’s never been done before....

Man, was it THAT long ago? I'm getting old ... :)

I was at Goodfellow in San Angelo the latter half of 1983. All I know it was HOT!!

Where is the love? Where is the justice?

Everything was aligning perfectly. The anniversary of Hurricane Katrina was just here. We even got several news stations of Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera crying on camera replaying their Oscar performances as they reported on the atrocities of Katrina. It would only be a matter of time before Bush´s name was dragged through the mud again. We had Hurricane Danny gaining speed in the Atlantic. It was just like old times again.

Then we got word that Danny would be just a rain storm. There is a snow storm in Calgary in summer.

Where the heck is a God that permits this to happen? This is not a Global Warming world I want to live in.

As a final injustice an endangered Panda bear just delivered twins.

Next thing you will be telling me is that Al Gore has been drafted to rescue the democratic party.

Because all the global warming hiding in the ocean went into reverse and made more polar ice because of racist whales that refuse to eat Beano...or something #BearLivesMatter
