You've Been Trumped

In the vein of a true David versus Goliath story, the new documentary "You've Been Trumped" takes a fresh look at just what constitutes progress in the modern world. In an era where the conspicuously wealthy have been anointed the new aristocracy, what happens when ordinary citizens dare to take a stand against the profit machine? That's just what Anthony Baxter's entertaining film examines. In a case that became an international news story, local Scottish residents put everything on the line to try to prevent Donald Trump from destroying their countryside with a luxury golfing resort. And if ever a piece needed a good villain,

Trump more than fills the bill. If I told you that Trump comes out in a very unflattering light, would that surprise you? While oftentimes Trump amuses me on a personal level, his greed and hubris certainly epitomize the skewed priorities that can't help but alienate the classes and perpetuate an economic divide. And where exactly do environmental concerns place when a multi-billion dollar deal is in play? I won't even answer that, I'll leave you guessing.

"You've Been Trumped" is, first and foremost, a tale of betrayal. The setting of the proposed resort is property that Trump has purchased along the Northern coast of Scotland (featured in 1983's Local Hero with Burt Lancaster). Ecologically sensitive,

this stretch of land is one of the last vestiges of actual wilderness in the country. To undertake his massive construction project, the government overturns its own environmental laws to get in on the deal. This doesn't sit well with the locals that we meet and a war is ignited. And as their protests become more vocal and the construction efforts become more intrusive, the authorities want to have no part in the

I’m from New Jersey. Golf courses destroy countrysides?

Maybe Trump could satisfy the author by touting low-income high-rises.

This season will be a delight. With all the name calling, we are back to the Palin debacle. This time, however, the protagonist is not particularly nice. Antagonize Trump at your peril.
Like it or not Trump embodies the anger and frustration that has been building in the American psyche for 25 years or more. He is taking the fight to the enemy. He may be a mad dog but he is our mad dog and I much prefer having him on our team, for as long as that remains.
Trust goes to core values. Time to get at what Trumps’s are.

Ecologically sensitive, this stretch of land is one of the last vestiges of actual wilderness in the country.

It looks more like Trump turned what used to be basically a barren grass covered moonscape into something much more attractive. There is now manicured grass surrounded by a barren grass covered moonscape. To me it looks as though there is more than enough of the barren grass covered moonscape left for the local critters to frolic in. And also there are jobs and money still pouring into the local economy. But no good turn goes unrewarded.

The following is the greeting on the golf course’s website.

“Greetings from Donald J. Trump

I am both proud and excited to share with you Trump International Golf Links, in The Home of Golf, Scotland.

I had been actively looking for links land in Europe for the past few years, and of course my preference was Scotland over any other country because I am half Scottish. My Mother, Mary MacLeod was from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. She grew up in a simple croft until she landed in Manhattan at the age of 20 and her first language was Gaelic.

When I saw this piece of land I was overwhelmed by the imposing dunes and rugged Aberdeenshire coastline. I knew that this was the perfect site for Trump International, Scotland. I have never seen such an unspoiled and dramatic sea side landscape and the location makes it perfect for our development. Our site is close to two of the world’s most famous courses and is just 25 minutes by car from Aberdeen Airport and 15 minutes from the City Centre.

With the championship links and MacLeod House & Lodge boutique hotel fully established, the golf experience in Scotland has been elevated to new levels of excellence.

Donald J. Trump”

Maybe these freaks would like to ask, whats better? A golf course which actually will bring revenue into the place? Or welfare? Then ask the freaks about all those sewer lines running right directly into the ocean from Dunoon.

DO NOT walk along the shore there. Those things on shore are not rocks.

So, he is from the branch Soil Thorcail, who eventually lost their lands which were taken over by the Mackenzies. Except for Raasay which eventually was lost through default.

That line of MacLeods were actually one of the most quarrelsome and most powerful of the septs of the Clann at the time.

Liberals are the most unhappy people. Nothing makes them happy. Nothing. They bitch and whine about anything and everything.

I remember Trump tried to use eminent domain to take an old woman's house in Atlantic City for a parking garage for his casino.

“Ecologically sensitive...”

That was enough to stop me from reading the article. Since there is ‘ecology’ on every square inch of the plan where man has sat foot, the term is TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE, so I’m not going to waste my time reading it - I know what the people writing this want me to think.

Funny that the not so Supreme Court ruled later that the City of Norwich could eminent domain land by the seaport and give it to a developer because it was in the common good.
