I happen to be in NY State this week. This article has inspired me to stop at Palmyra to see if I can find evidence of Moroni, the last survivor of a great civilization that had inhabited the Americas since about 600 B.C., buried in this hill a set of gold plates on which was recorded the history of his people. In 1827, Moroni returned as an angel and delivered the plates to Joseph Smith, who translated them and published them as the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Since I already know that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANTIAL, FACTUAL, OR ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE to support crazy Joe Smith's fanciful claims, I may talk to a few Mormons and encourage them to follow the Bible! Wish me Godspeed!

[ Mormons are rock-worshipers. Sheesh. Is there any more nonsensical crap that these poor mind-controlled people could do to make themselves a laughingstock? Moon worship? Reading tea leaves? Cat swinging? ]

Honestly i don’t give a damn if they worship a piece of rock, a length of string or the planet Uranus.

Just as long as they sure as hell don’t try to spread their cult “by the sword” or by overt coercion using intimidation, (xenu worshipers i am looking at you).

Really sad, actually.

Wonder how many boys, or men, with the best of intentions and when nobody is around, have stuck a ‘special’ rock in their hat, prayed mightily to God, along the lines of “Dear God, your humble servant Mitt here, if you’re willing, I’m ready dear God. You can have this stone talk to me in the privacy of my hat. Would you like for me to take on a few more wives?”

Any religion not supported by the historical record I regard as a myth.

There is little doubt about that. A seer stone is the epitome of occultic. I made the comment yesterday that Joseph Smith’s stone is no different than the shew-stone or scrying stone used by occultist John Dee in the Middle Ages.

The Bible explicitly warns against divination. It appears millions are being marched into the pit because they have ignored that warning. Anyone who understands the admonition against divination should recognize Joseph Smith as a false prophet.

True, that:
“Muslims,Mormans,Scientologists.And some others.
People are fully prepared to believe anything but the truth.”

However, in all fairness, people are often kept ignorant of all facts and full disclosure, such as questionable founders, foundation of religions, and contradictions.
Add to problematic new (mid/late 1800’s) religion doctrine: Jehovah Witness, Christian Scientists.

The truth will set you free..

Yes it is and yet you can't make that point to a Mormon.

I don’t know enough about Mormonism. But the mormons I did know, through work, were about as nice a people as I ever met..

And I no longer work with them but look forward to showing them what I have learned since leaving the world and its systems behind..

But I could say the same about muslims, jews , catholics and protestants, because there is a lot this world blinds us to.

The gold plates that kept changing their appearance to shiny copper, to shiny brass, to what ever else was next in diminishing luster. Also find it kind of odd that when Joseph Smith was told not tell anyone about them, the first thing he did was run to town and brought some of his friend back to see them, then some more friends and then some more friends.

No, most won’t listen. I’ve got some relatives who moved west and are now caught up with the LDS. It’s just heart-breaking.

My son is dating an LDS girl. I've done a lot of splaining and even found several Youtube videos to show their occultism. Meanwhile the girl's family is opposed to the relationship and making it hard for them to even talk on the phone. It's a prayer topic for my wife and I.

Actually, cat-swing has a long and legitimate history and is an accepted practice by many.

OK, not really.

“the first thing he did was run to town and brought some of his friend back to see them, then some more friends and then some more friends.”

You make it sound like many people have seen the tablets. I’d heard that hardly anyone saw them, except for a close friend and immediate family. Do you have the lines from their book that state how he brought people from town to see them? The more people who say they saw them gives it more credibility. But of course if the only source validating those witnesses is the book in question, then circular ‘reasoning’ is being used and the whole thing can be thrown out.

The men of high rank in the LDS must be feeling their oats (or insecure) to be releasing a photo of an alleged talking rock. But it’s a shy rock, it only talks when placed in a hat, and only to ‘special’ people, like those trying to gain notoriety and multiple wives by starting a following.

That’s tough. I will pray for him myself.

I had some Mormon friends in high school—a brother and sister. Their father moved to our town to start an LDS congregation. During that era there were very few in Tennessee at all, so they were the only ones in our school. I remember when they moved here they were quick to tell the rest of us (mostly Baptists and old-timey Methodists) they were not Christians. They were very open about what they believed. Something seems to have changed because now many Mormons want to be considered Christian and they speak in what I consider a devious manner about what they believe.

Glenn Beck is a master of devilish double-speak that fools a lot of Christians who aren’t discerning. If you listen you can almost hear the Serpent hiss when he starts talking about his faith.
