Stick a fork in Whole Foods?
CNNMoney ^ | July 31, 2015 | Paul R. La Monica

Whole Foods may be toast. Granted, it's toast made from pricey, gluten-free, organic honey oat bread. But toast nonetheless.

Shares of Whole Foods (WFM) plunged more than 10% Thursday after the high-end natural grocery chain reported sales and profits that missed analysts' forecasts. Its outlook did not impress investors either.

You have some lucky dogs. I buy Natural Balance for mine and I thought I was extravagant. My dogs are my babies! Sounds like yours are well loved too.

(Calif) I went to one with my uncle and said him that the people there look like hippies. He was an engineer who was conservative and shopped there all the time. I am from Minnesoda and so I guess he did not notice the hippies like I would.

If you don’t stop that you’ll have a mob on your lawn.

Our guys eat Natural Balance for breakfast. Could strangle NB for discontinuing their turkey, oatmeal, & cranberry treats (Tasty Bones, IIRC. I forget) . We fought with our vets for years about feeding people food. lol Either we made believers of them or they gave up. :-D Indulging our dogs is our vice.

Do y’all have Pet Barn, there? They make treats in house that are just pretty good. So many flavors- peanut butter, cranberry, blueberry, bunch of others. Great price, too + buy 3 lbs, get the fourth free. I think they might mail order.

No, we don't have pet barn. Where are you? We have Petco. I know a place where they make dog food and dog treats but I have never used it.

San Antonio (& missing Houston from when DH was working there last year).
We get our NB from Petco, but that’s it. They & Petsmart are so overpriced except on dogfood.

They do have a shop online thing.

It looks like they’ve added minis. (We used to buy 3 Dog’s little treats.) I can vouch for the blueberry, cranberry, cheese, & peanut butter. The blueberry ones smell so good, I’m tempted to try one myself.

I made a nice chunk on options several years ago in their high growth phase. That can’t last forever.

We do have Petsmart but the one where I shopped closed now I shop Petco. There is now Unleashed which is Petco by a new name.

I love San Antonio but I have never lived there. I am mad for the missions, I love them. I have to visit every few years and just wander around all of them.

I love them, too. There’s a really neat one- a fort, actually, in Gonzales. DH handled an insurance claim there (one of the modern buildings, not the fort itself) a few years back, & I’ve wanted to go back ever since.

I grew up here, so I may be tired of it. I don’t think we’ve grown very gracefully. East Texas is so lush & green. I am wild about SE Houston. Believe it or not (this used to not be true in the 80s & 90s), Houston drivers are a lot saner than San Antonio or Austin. Maybe if we had a Beltway 8? (Okay. This is making me need a road trip. lol Doesn’t take much...)

Gonzales, I did not know that! I have several books about the missions I'll look that one up. There is a mission in ruin in Mexico somewhere between Piedras Negras and Neuvo Laredo. I took pictures but I have no idea where they are. ; )

I think it’s the Presidio. IIRC, they have a nice park there- pretty close by.

That sounds familiar, but I haven’t been there. Makes me sick about Mexico. We used to go shopping pretty often & always when we went to South Padre. It’s not safe now, I don’t think. Or I wouldn’t feel safe anyway.

Same with us, we hunted in south Texas every year for many many years and would go across the border for dinner every Sat nite. No more we don't even go to south Texas to hunt anymore and we certainly don't go to Mexico. I know people who do go there but not us!

My girlfriends and I would charter a bus and go to the border to shop El Mercado. We had such a good time but those days are long over.

I’m glad my step grandparents aren’t alive to see this. They lived in Harlingen & my grandfather did business across the border as well as the Valley.

The Mexican government could get ahold of this if they wanted to. :rubs fingers/ thumb together:

DH used to handle a lot of property claims in Eagle Pass & Del Rio and trucking claims as far as Sanderson (all hours of the day & night). The last few years he did it, it really stressed me out.

The Mexican people as a whole are good people but the government is so corrupt. Everyone in government from the top to the bottom has their hand out for a bribe. That’s just the way it works down there.

Agree. BF’s friends used to go surfing in Tampico back in the 70s & talked about having to pay off the federales.
