Obama made the prediction, in a light-hearted fashion, while addressing the African Congress on Tuesday:

I have to also say that Africa’s democratic progress is also at risk when leaders refuse to step aside when their terms end…I am in my second term… I love my work. But under our Constitution, I cannot run again… I actually think I’m a pretty good President — I think if I ran I could win.

Trump has an entirely different view of Obama’s chances, telling Greta Van Susteran on Tuesday: “I think he would fail miserably if he ran again. I would beat him so easily. Obama would get creamed if he ran again.”

The billionaire candidate indicated that he would “love” to run against Obama. “People are tired of these politicians,” Trump added. “We need energy, we need enthusiasm, and we need a much tougher tone.”

He also stated his belief that, if he becomes the Republican nominee, Hillary Clinton may well not be his opponent. “When you get rid of hard drives, when you get rid of all these thousands and thousands of emails…Remember this General Petraeus, they destroyed his life for doing much less than she did,” Trump said.

In his address before the African Congress, Obama pointed out that “there’s a lot that I’d like to do to keep America moving [if I could serve a third term], but the law is the law. And no one person is above the law. Not even the President,” which drew applause from the assembly’s delegates.

Many would argue that President Obama’s respect for the law has been wanting on numerous occasions since taking office, starting with his refusal to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, and continuing through multiple unilateral changes to the Affordable Care Act, and on to his implementation of executive amnesty, part of which is currently blocked by the federal courts.

As reported by Western Journalism, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released a report last year identifying 76 lawless acts by the Chief Executive since he took office in 2009.

Respected legal scholar Jonathan Turley testified before Congress that the president has taken the United States to a constitutional crisis by his executive power grabs.

Even Saturday Night Live took notice of Obama’s willingness to go right around Congress and rule by executive fiat in this sketch last fall.

..and guess what, if he can ‘executive order’ something to make sure he can run again, then he can't be impeached because according to the Constitution, he has to go thru Congress and if there's nothing there to impeach, what are you going to impeach????

Political theorists should take a look at this before its to late....

and what? - congress is finally going to do something? right, sure - - maybe on the 12th . . the 12th of never. Obama can do what ever he wants and the congress and the gay Supreme Court would just stand around and bloviate. The Supreme Court would find something in the 14th Amendment which - - 'OMG!! he's right! a president can actually stay as long as he wants! Look! its right there!!!"

yessir.

Obama told the American people 27 TIMES that he could not grant amnesty to illegals because the Constitution prevented him from doing so. It didn't stop him then, did it.

I used to laugh at the libs who said that W and Cheney were never going to leave .... but I am no longer laughing about this sorry sumbich.

He cannot executive order it. Executive orders if allowed to go unchecked have the level of a law. Not a constitutional amendment. They never have and nevr will be able to amend the constitution.

the Constitution prevented him

Don't you just hate the fact that when he promised to EXECUTE the office of the presidency, that he would actually EXECUTE the presidency?

An impeachment would take at least two years to ramp up, so I don't think it would be an option at this point even if they could get it going.

We got ourselves a Manchurian candidate intent on giving us a utopia whether we like it or not.

But they will be confounded in the midst of their victory.
