The baited outside the park. When the lion came out they shot it.

It was an old lion. He killed it with a bow.

I’m guessing he has trouble walking.

Wounded it with a bow and arrow.

Then tracked it for forty hour before killing it with a rifle.

Rodrigues told the Star that the 13-year-old lion, which was skinned and beheaded, was shot on a ranch after it was “drawn out” of the Hwange National Park.

The hunters used a spotlight and “tied a dead animal to their vehicle” to lure Cecil out, the WCTF statement said. “It took them another 40 hours to find where the lion was and then they killed it with a rifle,” Rodrigues said.

Shot with a bow and arrow, then tracked for days while he limped around bleeding. Shooting that lion in that way is hardly a badge of courage.

He shot it with a crossbow but only wounded it because it took them nearly two days to track him down and finish him off with a gun.

The Zimbabwe Professional Hunters and Guides Association confirmed in a Facebook post last week that the hunter in charge of the safari was one of its members. The association said the safari leader had been suspended indefinitely.

“The professional hunter and company he works for have been cooperative in the investigation,” the association said. “ZPHGA reiterates it will not tolerate any illegal hunting or any unethical practices by any of its members and their staff.”

It asked everyone to respect the ongoing investigation and said it would not comment further until the inquiry is complete.

Researchers at Oxford University expressed grief at the lion’s death and at the news that, for one reason or another, he had wandered away from the protection of the national park in Zimbabwe.

“It’s not many months ago that I watched Cecil with my hand on my heart as he strayed toward a hunting concession,” said professor David Macdonald, founding director of Oxford’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit. “On that occasion he turned back into the protection of the park, but this time he made a fatal mistake and I feel deeply sad, personally.”

The dentist paid was led to the Lion by a local hunting company.

They also removed a GPS tracking device from the body.Shooting an animal with a tracking collar is a serious crime over there. Here’s hoing the “Doc” gets to do some hard time.

The hunting fees are a major part of what supports the game preserves from what I understand.

I dont support poaching or spotlighting. Once its wounded then they need to kill it though.

Smear him with bacon grease, and drop him in the national park. Naked.
Let the lions do a little hunting.

Off the top of my head I have a list that would get us accused of overfeeding the lions, and making them “Obese”.

However, a fat happy cat is a good thing.

Mr. McConnell. you’re our first contestant on...
