You need to come back to this thread and read what Trump ACTUALLY said about deporting the illegals. No amnesty involved.
Not sure if that’s accurate, as I heard that statement and thought he was speaking in general, saying that immigration laws in general could be streamlined. Either way, even streamlining for people who self-deport and who are “outstanding” doesn’t sound like a bad deal in comparison to what we have now.
Trump has brought the topic up when everyone has run from it.

I do not want Trumps newly explained Pathway to Citizenship... BUT I certainly do not want Jeb Bush.
If we do not keep Trump at the top of the heap — the RNC/GOP and U.S. Chamber of Commerce will push - shove Jeb to the top and wall out all others by spending hundreds of millions to create an artificial ASTO-TRUF .... creating the illusion that people actually want Jeb with phony polls and news articles and a wave of TV appearances.
AND Jeb’s PUSHERS will wall out all other candidates
Trump on the other hand welcomes the other candidates and is even encouraging Cruz.
That is the CHOICE WE HAVE...

I was pondering how Trump could best answer the question: "What do you propose to do with the 11 Million law abiding undocumented immigrants after you close the southern border?"
I thought of all the brilliant suggestions I've seen on FR, and realized that, instead of listing off a roster of individual actions, like we do, the best and most presidential answer would be this:
"The President is the nation's chief law enforcement officer. As such, it would be my sworn constitutional duty to faithfully uphold the laws of the United States. What that means in terms of illegal immigration, is that I would direct all pertinent agencies of the federal government to follow U.S. immigration law and regulations to the letter."
Such an answer would satisfy the vast majority of Americans, and would effectively disarm the liberal media and the Uniparty establishment. He couldn't be attacked for promising to uphold our laws. If any critics concluded that following the law would be harsh treatment, Trump could tell them to talk to Congress. They write the laws.
YES! EVERY legal immigrant is likely sick and tired of the ILLEGALS sponging off of this country.
And who’s going to define “good” (or as Trump used the term “Outstanding”?)
So if 15 of the 30 million here not deemed violent criminals (other than breaking the law by illegally entering the country in the first place) leave the country and apply to get back in, the “good”/”outstanding” ones get “expedited” back in. Is there a quota on the number of good/outstanding to let back in?
If this is acceptable then I don’t want anyone to b*tch about Cruz and HB-1 Visas anymore.
Trump WILL build the wall...says to mark his words on this.
Trump WILL deport those here illegally. Then, for those who’ve been productive, he’ll create an expedited way/qualifications for them to come back LEGALLY.
They ALL get deported, some may qualify to come back LEGALLY.
That sounds reasonable. The ones we want are those that WANT to learn English and fully integrate into American culture.
All those who are here illegally should be required to remain outside the U.S. for a minimum of 8 years (they may lose interest in coming back).

Excellent response to the age old question of what to do with the millions here illegally, Windy!! Love it...sometimes the simplest answers (simple as in .... follow our EXISTING laws) are the very best.
Trump came pretty close....saying LAWS ARE LAWS...WE HAVE TO FOLLOW OUR LAWS.
That is a lot MORE conservative than ANY OTHER CANDIDATE running in 2016. If you find out some candidate will deport ALL illegals, please please message me. I will switch to him in a New York Minute.

I didn't see the interview, but I was thinking today, that the simplest and most straightforward answer Trump can give to these questions, is to just say, "If elected, I'll enforce the law."
Simple, satisfies most Americans, and disarms his critics.
Expediting legalization for illegals who by law aren’t supposed to be allowed to return to the country for at least 10 years is amnesty. Amnesty is freeing people from a penalty they otherwise would have to pay—and that’s what Trump is proposing.
