Freud WHAT?...Freud should be added to the list that was abuilding with the likes of Alinsky, Oprah, and Goebbels of those who had contributed to the coarsening of discourse and civility in this culture, re Opponents worked social media outlets to orchestrate a campaign of negative reviews of Anderson’s book, often attacking the author personally...don't know if he was burned at the stake but if so he was probably well on the way to dying of mouth cancer anyway, if I remember correctly - sometimes a good cigar really is more than a good cigar.....

That is to me a very mysterious equation. Freud was a hardnosed rationalist, and I believe he had penetrating insight into the nature and workings of the human mind, which of course makes me a big fan, but by no means a worshipper of him.

I am at no pains to defend him against the many deprecations that are heaped on him, no doubt deserved to one degree or another, yet I'm not swayed by these from my appreciation of his thinking.
