Economic forecaster Martin Armstrong, who is known for having accurately predicted major events like the Savings & Loan crash, the collapse of Japanese financial markets and the destruction of the Russian economy almost to the day, says that a major turning point is coming to the global paradigm this October. While stopping short of calling for an all out crash, Armstrongs cyclical turning point of 2015.75 suggests that very big changes are set to take place.
But how do you prepare for the uncertainty of whats to come?
Armstrong says youd better have some cash on hand for short-term disruptions, just in case your financial institution shuts down like they did in Greece:

I know a guy who has 10 cases of half pint liquor stashed away
Smart guy...
....
He has a bunch of useful things. He’s ready to barter. Only two of us know about it.
Too many people advertise what they have.

I’ve got a bunch of cartons of cigs and tobacco. A little 9.2 shaker and a few water riots, or even a banking collapse ain’t going to make nicotine junkies think twice about doing what they have to in order to supply their habit.

You kiddin’? I know a “friend” who had 6 cases of 1.5L of a certain high quality bourbon on hand.
Apparently the cases were lost in an unfortunate boating accident.

Dave Ramsey recently ranted on his show about people calling asking if they should sell all their stocks, buy gold, the end of the world or economy is coming.
He said that if you truly believe that, buy bullets, beans, a generator and gas, not gold.

I’m thinking if the banks are closed for 3 months, the FSA will be getting out of hand. Personally, if my bills don’t get paid, oh well. Bartering would be going on.

True that. Gold won’t keep you warm at night or fill your belly or protect you from two- or four-legged predators.

Way back 40 years ago a cig salesman told me that freezing them works for a long long time. He had a freezer full of the things that were returns, by the carton. A neighbor he was and I never had to make a late night run for smokes.

Bill Mauldin wrote that when he was a young boy, the town he lived in got cut-off from the outside world by a flood/washed-out bridge.
After a few days the recently-former cigarette smokers started getting really desperate.
