He is a real pro, absolutely gifted in his ability to make any story compelling, if not believable, at the very least enetertaining and very interesting.

So true. Art's got a style and technique that was born of decades of hard work in radio, and a genuine love for the art of the spoken word.

He also doesn't interrupt his guests, but allows them to fully form their thoughts (or at least complete a sentence) before stepping back in with a response or a following question. It's true two-way communication, and very calming to listen to.

AM talk radio hosts could learn a thing or two from him in that regard.

I think so much of Art I even listen to the commercials! Usually mute those with other shows.

Same bumper music and same long form talk format and same guests we've all come to know.

I tell you, it's so cool to hear this again in real time. I took a big loss when Art first left the airwaves because his show was just so entertaining.

It's a rare thing to recover something you love that's been lost. This is one of those rare times, and I'm really enjoying it.

I used to listen to Wells on C2C before they booted him. A good radio voice, but I found him a bit too credulous over conspiracy theories. However way better than the ridiculous and talent-free Noory. Noory is a master of the fine art of asking a guest a question that the guest has just finished answering.

Johnny Cash? I don’t remember that one, but it’s cool.

John B. Wells was the only reason I tuned in to C2C on the weekends. I stopped listening to C2C when they booted him because Noory complained he was getting too popular. Wells’ audience eclipsed Noory’s and for good reason!

the ridiculous and talent-free Noory.

Gotta agree with that. I never did like the guy, though I really did try to give him a chance when he first took over for Art. The guy is just plain fake, so he never did fill Art's shoes.

Watch and see if Art's new show doesn't soon overtake Snoory's listener numbers.

I’m gonna turn on the keurig and have a cup a Joe so I can spend a bit more time with Art this evening. Hancock is an interesting writer. This topic is one that really interests me. I’m wondering when Gobekli Teppe will come up ...

So true, excellent points on his ability to interview guests, which so many on talk radio and tv could take a tip or two from Art. Art gets it.

Excellent show tonight. Noticing again how Art always is ready for something to go wrong by his very quick recovery and ability to continue seamlessly - truly he is the best in how to do radio.

George Noory is BushI. Art Bell is Reagan.

Yep. The way he smoothly recovered from Graham Hancock's dropped call was professionalism personified. He admitted to being a bit stymied by all the new gear in his studio and was just about to break away when Graham's call came back.

The guy's fearless, and doesn't operate with a back-up crew to help him with such emergencies. Old school all the way.

Well put. That's an apt analogy.

Noory booted Wells? Another confirmation that Noory never lost his amateur-level ego. It’s time for Noory to send his aircheck to a Mom and Pop owned 100 Watt station which also has an easy listening format.

Noory is so bad, he lost the one and only station in North Texas that carried his show, some three or four years back. DFW is the number four AM radio market in the country, so that's saying something.

From what Wells said on his own show (not naming names, but you knew who he was talking about) Noory complained to the syndicator and the syndicator told Wells not to come back (at that time) next week.

From what Graham his guest said, it sounds like the problem was London based rather than on this end, yet Art took the blame and smoothly moved forward. Seamless, old school, yes, absolutely and he's just that good.

This is outstanding radio done exceptionally well and I am having fun again listening to Art Bell.

I hope word of mouth spreads quickly via social media, Facebook, twitter about Art Bell's return and how his loyal fan base is still here.

Art just asked people to hold their calls during his interview with Graham Hancock and briefly mentioned that all the lines were full. He also said that he was getting a lot of email traffic.

I think he's back with a bang. He also seems to have a decent roster of advertisers right out of the gate, which is a very good sign. They're betting that millions have missed Art, and that they'll tune in. I think they bet wisely.

Yes, that makes sense because it's a classic blunder which programmers often trip over. They hire someone at a cheap rate, with a fair to middling delivery in hopes the guy will learn how to connect with his listeners while on the job, and if that doesn't happen they hope at least a fair delivery will carry him.

Never happens though because listeners aren't stupid, they always recognize phoney when they hear it.

The Doobies on bumper music! Yay!

Isn't DFW where SMN started and are they still around or were they swallowed up by another sat programmer?

Someone tweeted last night during the test run show that there were 35,000 people listening in on the internet stream. They weren't sure how many were listening to the shortwave affiliate. But 35K is pretty substantial for a "soft launch" which was nothing more than Art Bell trying out the Skype calls. There were glitches toward the end of the show and he cut the show short 30 minutes. He mentioned that at the top of the show tonight, but all and all, I thought it was great to hear him back behind the mic again.
