Seriously, they are only allowing a choice between skim milk and soy milk? These people clearly don’t know much about nutrition

Skim milk or soy milk? The choices may as well be Mountain Dew or Crab Juice.

Soy Milk, if I’m not mistaken, contains estrogen like hormones. Maybe their intent is feminization of the sailors.

“sitting on a Navy Destroyer off the Coast of Vietnam”

DLG-34 1968 and again 1969. We had grilled steaks on the helo deck one weekend. I downed four steaks, plus another one for mid rats.

From my time in the Navy, I remember chow hall food being filling and nutritious ...
I was on an LST during a 5-6 month Carib cruise. Marines ate after the sailors and we always got stuck eating ham steaks. Ugh.
However, there was this one time ... we had been out in the field for two weeks, then re-boarded the ship, then pulled into San Juan.
We were given a "treat" and allowed to eat breakfast at the Navy mess hall. So we marched over, opened the doors and there were dozens of 4 man tables covered with red/white checked table cloths.
We froze in amazement until the cooks starting yelling at us to, "move it you dumb Jarheads!" - then to our further amazement asked - what do you want to eat, how many do you want, and how would like it cooked?
LOL ... I will never forget that event and still shake my head in wonder.

Doesn’t sound like any Navy chow hall I ever ate in. But aboard the USS JFK you could get your eggs cooked to order at breakfast.

Kerry used to enjoy a nice Steak when he was sitting on a Navy Destroyer off the Coast of Vietnam.

As far as I know, kerry never served aboard a destroyer, off Vietnam or anywhere else. He was a swift boat guy.

I can't recall having nice steaks on my destroyer off the coast. If we did, I don't remember it. (Of course, I wasn't eating in the wardrrom either. Maybe the officers did.)

I was just going to post that soy feminizes men, but I see you've already posted that. I wonder how they explain that choice?

The only thing I can figure is that the Navy is gearing up for all those “TRANSGENDERS” that will have to be serviced. Sounds as good as anything else I’ve read. GOD, please have mercy on us, I know that we don’t deserve it, but have mercy on those of us who love you.

Before he “volunteered” for Swift Boat Duty, he did indeed serve on a Navy Ship off the Vietnam Coast. I read it was a Destroyer, but it could have been another large Ship.

After he transferred to Swift Boats, the Commander changed the role of the Swift Boat Fleet from Coastal Patrol to River Patrol.

Remember, Kerry has it seared into his Brain that President Nixon sent him up River to Cambodia, even before Nixon was President. I think Kerry hallucinated while watching Apocalypse Now

As far as I can remember, the information came from either Free Republic of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Yes, he was an Officer so I assume he got the real Food.

I stand corrected — he did in fact serve aboard USS Gridley (DLG-21) before going to the swifts.

The Gridley was a Leahy-class guided missile frigate, a double-ended Terrier ship. They’re generally described as “destroyers” even though they were later reclassified as “cruisers” when they were given their CG hull numbers. In a previous life, I served on the same class ship, the Harry E. Yarnell (DLG-17/CG-17).

Thanks for your service Bob. My Dad served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific as a Signalman.

He was on a Sub Chaser, a Cruiser and a Heavy Duty Tug that was tasked to pull Landing Craft off the Beaches that were stuck. They did this under fire, but he rarely talks about all the fun he had.

His Older Brother was a Seabee who helped build the Airstrips needed to attack Japan. He got shot at a few times from what I’ve heard.

They used to say that the best food in the navy was on the “boomer” submarines. Now just broccoli and kale with soy milk.
