(CNN)Before tonight, Abby Wambach had everything but the World Cup.
So when her squad's memorable 5-2 triumph over Japan was sealed, she chose an unforgettable way to celebrate.
With the crowd roaring, as cameras flashed, Wambach -- one of the greatest players in the history of women's soccer -- ran to the stadium's edge and leapt into the stands to kiss her wife, Sarah Huffman.

What if this Conservative doesn’t care who, and doesn’t feel the need or right to condone or condemn, who she kissed after the game? But that would make this a non-issue and garner no votes. The issue must become I must condone, support and celebrate the kiss. I cannot disagree yet tolerate the act.

Oh, isn’t that special. So glad the Women’s World Cup is over. Glad we won sure... If there’s a competition you want to win sure. But who really gives a damn about women’s soccer? And half the team is lesbian.

Wambach is a native of Rochester, NY. This morning's (Gannett) rag, ran a picture of her that was the entire width of the paper, from the fold up.
The caption - Abby Wambach wins the World Cup. Not the "US Wins the World Cup" - Wambach did it.
She didn't even play much more than 30 minutes the entire tournament.
