No dummy. The community pool is actually run by the local town hall, the local government. Just like I said in my post. You seem to lack reading comprehension.
Did you read the post?
Did you understand it?
Is there someone available with an IQ that exceeds room temperature that can explain it to you? Perhaps a private charity, church or a relative with extra time. Lots of time based on your obtuse logic.
Don’t dare go to the local library as that would be a government entity run by the local community, kind of like the community pool. No free wading. Wouldn’t want to look like a hypocrite would you?
Being called ignorantr (sic) by a person incapable of spelling ignorant is truly special. Thank you.
Please do at least a modicum of proof reading before posting if for no other reason than to give gravitas to your otherwise witless comments.
His whole book, you idiot, was about goverment programs taking over the working, useful, private charities, then doing a lousy job, then lying, as are you, by saying if government doesn’t do it, nobody will. (He was VERY complimentary of the private charities that existed BEFORE the welfare state, and took great pains to detail exactly why they worked so well.
Use your “great” education to read the book before you spout off about what is says.
Remember YOU advocate letting the government identify and care for the “needy”. Your tag line used to say :The government is rarely benevolent, often malevolent and never benign! To hold these two opinions makes you the hypocrite and unbelievably evil in your attitude toward the poor and needy. You not only are willing for, you DEMAND that the needy be handed over to the government (which you say is never benevolent, often malevolent and never benign)
Compassion DOES require personal involvement. Please explain how government programs provide the personal involvement that Mr. Olasky says is necessary.
Proof-reading has nothing to do with intelligence nor education, but simply taking the time.....and you are not worth that time. Pointing out typo flaws exposes more about you than the typos expose about me.
Thanks for the paragraphs. Now work on an intelligent argument loser!
Private charities cannot care for all the poor and all the sick children. The costs are too high. . I know that for a fact.
Our second son was born with a rare genetic defect. He spent 127 days in the Cleveland Clinic when he was first born and had thirteen major surgeries and over thirty individual procedures during those surgeries including two open heart surgeries. We didn't even get to hold him for close to two weeks. .
We had good, not great, health insurance and I worked as a sales executive and made a six figure salary while my wife made decent income. We had a house, savings, investments, retirement accounts and 50 % equity in our home and NO DEBT outside of our very reasonable mortgage. .
Our insurance paid out over four million dollars on our sons treatment and we paid over $100,000 of our own money. Yet it wasn't enough. We ran out of money. We cashed in our IRA’s 401 K's and our stock portfolios we even refinanced our fifteen year mortgage and took a 30 year mortgage to get our equity. .
I left my job to take care of him full time as my wife had the medical insurance that we so desperately needed. One of us had to stay home to care for him as he needed full time care. .
Then we had to go to the government. We were out of money. We were out of options. We spent more money than a loser like you is likely to see in a lifetime. We were flat broke at forty with a lifetime of frugal living, high salaries and serious saving. . We were able to save our home because he qualified for a State Sponsored Program called the Bureau for Children With Medical Handicaps (BCMH) and the Regional Infant Hearing Programs (RIHP). He did not qualify for Disability because even without my income we made too much money.
Through these programs we were able to get him the hearing aids he desperately needed so he could hear. We were able to get some relief so that we could get some breathing room. He was able to get the physical therapy he needed. Our insurance didn't cover a great deal of his needs. NO INSURANCE DOES.
So I am not speaking out of my ass like you. This isn'tt some philosophical or sociological argument. We put my money where our mouth is. We walked it like we talked it.
We decided to have our child knowing he would have serious problems. We said we could handle it and we did. We refused to abort our son. His life was worth more than money, even our money. We believed that God had a plan for us and that everyone mattered and deserved a chance at the best life they could lead.
According to you, we should have relied on our friends and neighbors our families and church and private charities. Well when the rubber hit the road we got less than $1,000 cash from friends, families and our ‘community’. Our parents were able to help by watching our oldest son and my parents paid for some things and did all they could, but they are retired and not wealthy.
It is amazing how few real friends you have when times get tough.
How many sick children of friends, neighbors and family members have you taken a financial interest in? How many checks have you written for them? How much have you given?
After his last open heart surgery in June of 2010 he recovered only to die of an atrial fibrillation October 1, 2010. .
So forgive me if I tend to give little respect to selfish, ill informed, blowhards.
