A Fort Smith School Board committee passed a motion Tuesday (June 23) to ban the “Dixie” song during the 2015-2016 school year and to replace the rebel mascot for the 2016-2017 school year.
The motion passed five to zero. Susan McFerran, a member of the school board, said the decision comes after the mass shooting in Charleston, South Carolina and a recent class reunion.
“There was a 30 year class reunion this weekend,” she said. “It came to our attention that the public has been pretty upset about the Confederate flag, which has already been removed, the rebel mascot [and] the playing of the ‘Dixie.’” …

How is it “working”? Isn’t it prophesied that evil will increase the closer to the “last end” we get? Nobody who sides with the god of this world will prevail.

Stone Mountain? Mount Rushmore has two slave-owner’s faces on it. The State of Washington and Washington, D.C. are named after a slave-owner. Many counties are named after slave-owners. Reparations will be next.
Tell them while we are banning things to get rid of Che shirts and flags and Marxist texts.
“We” are doing this? I was under the impression that it was “they” who do this. “They” are siding with the god of this world in order to have the power to “gain the whole world”; so guess what they’re going to lose if they keep at it.
Despite a barrage of symbolic, feel-good gestures, we’re not one angstrom closer to Utopia.
Not when on the path to Dystopia, no. And such gestures are the pavement of that path.
I’m from a family of Yankees who fought for the Union in the Civil War and hold no brief for the Confederacy, but I’m amazed at how quickly people allow the Left to define the meaning of things and simply crumble like coffee cake in the face of the liberal bullies.
We are talking about a mindset that thought killing 250 million people in the 20th century was a small thing.
Reparations next? We’ve been paying those since LBJ started the “Great Society”, via welfare, food stamps, and fake disability. How many able bodied welfare queens are there out there?
