It's not likely they'll go back to Chambers Bay again. More traditional US Open courses like Oakmont, Torrey Pines, Bethpage Black, Pebble Beach, Baltusrol, Olympic Club, Pinehurst and Winged Foot will in the mix in the future.

My first thought after I saw the course was that it was simply a links course, similar to the British Open courses. Upon closer look, it looked more like a goat pasture. At least the Open courses are in better shape.

I agree that the course was unfair. I wonder who would have won if they had played on a normal course.

The Scots and the Irish would say the US players are being pansies. There are some tough courses over there.

Well, I have seen a goat pasture up close as my grandson manages a goat farm in West Texas and there was a whole lot more sand on the golf course than there is in that goat pasture. I just thought it was all rather interesting because the pros are used to pristine conditions, even when playing on a links course. Looks to me like this course separated the real golfers from the whiners.
