Is Ted Cruz Too Smart to Be President?
Doug Ross @ Journal ^ | June 14, 2015 | Dan Friedman

Posted on 06/14/2015 1:52:33 PM PDT by MN_Mike

Consider this a free seminar on the intricacies of enacting a trade deal in Congress.

Only last week the media was all atwitter about Cruz jumping the Conservative ship, and voting to support (parts of) Obama’s pacific trade pact. This is complicated stuff, and not very sexy. You simply can’t explain it with a sound bite. But listen to this twenty-minute radio interview with Cruz as he brilliantly breaks down his position and in the process teaches us a lot about foreign trade, the Congressional process, and himself.

People who question Ted Cruz’s “electability” are missing the point. The question isn’t whether or not he can win, but what happens to us if he doesn’t.

Cruz has taken time to conduct two radio interviews and issued a press release to help us understand the intricacies of the TPA and any subsequent trade agreements.

Is Dan Friedman too dumb to be journalist?

Oh pardon me, ...one can never be too dumb to be a journalist.

Ted Cruz would make a fine president. I don’t see anyone else out there that would be nearly as aggressive at handling the democrats.

Why doesn't Ted Cruz stop and listen to us when we say we don't want to do anything that even remotely works in Obama's favor?

We've spent quite a bit of time this listening to Ted Cruz tell us why he knows what's best. Now he really should listen to US workers who actually lose jobs because of global manipulations.

No. Dan Friedman is just too COMMUNIST and thinks he's too smart by half.
Even the DemocRATS are beginning to doubt his lies.

Who is “we”?

What is your (”we”) expertise in international trade? What is your (”we”) background as a constitutional scholar?

You mean like the Constitutional Scholar in the Whitehouse that’s also the smartest guy in the room? That worked out well.

he belongs on the supreme court in the near future.

Imagine: President Cruz, Nov. 2024, now a lame duck President with only two months or so left in office. Ruth 'Buzzi' Ginsberg falls into a permanent nap.

54 year old Ted Cruz then nominates himself to replace her.

Ahh per chance to dream...

The author makes a good point.

All the other candidates have run and hid on the TPA matter. Those who proclaimed outrage (Perry, Carly, Huckabee) haven’t read the documents and are simply playing to the loudest voices (many who weren’t for Cruz to begin with).

Ted provided detailed explains during two recent radio interviews a radio broadcast town hall meeting, and his press release.

He provided a clinic on TPA, trade agreements, and the legislative process.

Haven’t you learned anything in the last 6 years? They know best, after all.

By “we” I mean US citizens. I don’t have any expertise; I’m just trying to apply logic to an out of control situation in which all but the global elite are sliding into poverty. I don’t see why we owe them and their banks anything except disdain.

Yeah, a clinic on something that we have to wait until its passed to know what’s in it. And save your breath, I know the difference between the TPA and TPP and the subordinate parts. It’s a hollow argument. Bring it out to the sunshine and let’s see what it (TPP) really says.

He’s got my vote as I think he’s way above everyone else, but i would like to know, in detail, how this would bring jobs to the US and in what sectors?
i dont see how manufacturing can be helped when there are countries who can make things for pennies on the dollar.
But I’m VERY open to listening.
I think investment banks, law firms and the ilk would benefit and they actually have many millions working for them, I have been one of them. but I want to know about the blue collar guy.

Perry supported it till it became politically expedient to oppose it.

I will say on Scott Walker's behalf that he isn't hiding from it, its just that no one is talking about it.
