Assault with a friendly weapon?

Not if you are a competitor, paying employee health care, paid vacations, sick days, workman's comp, half of the social security bite, rent, insurance, business license...

Still fun!

“Opposite - teens have been reporting for years that they could get pot more easily than cigarettes or beer, which is not surprising considering that sellers of legal (for adults) drugs usually ‘card’ while sellers of illegal drugs never do.”

I was about to respond with the same thing.
I smoked darn near every day from 14-18 years old. It was a heck of a lot easier to get than beer. Liquor, forget about it. We had ABC stores in NC. I was never without pot. This was 1978-1982. Anyone doesn’t think it’s more available to kids today is living in a cave.

That’s funny.

I can’t get the image of the cannon from Jules Verne’s “From Earth to the Moon” out of my head. :)

When did legality start mattering to druggies?

I think it will, if law threatens their access. CO is under the gun to keep things ultra legal in order to “enjoy” their illegality. It is still Federal law that says Marijuana is an illegal drug. The Federales could shut them down if there is enough complaint from surrounding states.

I assume you saw the recent sting on pot shops in Washington State??? Your assertion is wrong.

No, but if it is used medicinally, I have no problem with that.

You mean this? "SEATTLE (AP) - Four of the 22 legal pot shops tested in an initial round of sting operations this month failed by selling to minors"

That confirms what I say: 18 of 22 legal pot shops refused minors while 0 out of 22 illegal dealers do.

I guess that is one way to justify it...

I would have no problem banning alcohol. How many millions have been killed by it?

"Justification" is a red herring - the question is, what policy most effectively keeps mind-altering substances out of the hands of minors ... and the answer is, legalization for adults.

Did you know that this nation tried that? Do you know how it turned out?

I would have no problem banning alcohol.

Would you do it via an amendment to the Constitution, or would you cheat and use the Commerce Clause?
