President Obama is pressing forward with regulations to diversify wealthy neighborhoods – and critics of the idea haven’t been shy, calling out the idea as ridiculous and an irrational way of advancing the White House’s own vision of a utopian society.
The rules, coming from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, could withhold block grants to communities if they don’t build enough so-called affordable housing in wealthy neighborhoods, the Hill reported.

The Lear Jet Leftists expect to form the core of the global Inner Party. They will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer — while deciding your fate for you.
If you work very hard and show them your unwavering loyalty you may be permitted to join the global Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat - and air conditioning on a rationed basis.
The rest of us will eat insects and swelter – ‘for the common good’.
That would be a great place to start. Bet we could come up with a few more exclusive neighborhoods who should go first in this grand plan!

There was a long and interesting article 18 months back from maybe the American Spectator, or...maybe Weekly Standard, warning of this.
It examined the philosophical underpinnings of all this, going back to European intellectuals of the 19th century.
Basically hard-core leftists LOATHE the suburbs and the long-term goal is to have everyone living in huge, easily-patrolled, high-rise cell-blocks near a transport hub.
In short they want to get you out of ANYTHING (individual house, individually-owned car) that removes people from scrutiny.
They’re really, really serious, and it explained the jillion ways they have of making this happen:
Zoning, weird, new enviro-rules, tax policy, etc.
Really scary and amazing.
Well, that puts you one up on me — I don’t even want to care.
I bet a lot of Democrats would like to have their neighborhoods to be early on the list. Teresa and John Kerry might like a project next door.
Goal: Destroy white people as a unified people with common, core values.
Divide and attack.
Good idea. Build high density low income housing next to Barbara Streisand’s mansion.
I keep advising people to move to the country. It’s the last decent place left in America.
The cities and suburbs are lost.
Somehow, I don’t think they mean those kinds of neighborhoods. I’m sure they mean your typical low-crime, suburban places with middle class people who work to make a living. These are typically those that mind their own business and just want to live their lives in peace.
Why are tax payers funding Block Grants to any neighborhood rich or poor?
Wealthy communities don't need no stinkin' block grants! Quickest way to segregation I can think of.
Gotta have our share of druggies, pimps, and welfare mommas with 12 kids.
Suburban living requires two things; abundant good paying jobs and cheap energy. Take them away and Poof! No suburbs. Every 0bama policy has been directed toward destroying those two things.
