WIMBERLY, Texas, - A Texas family whose home was caught in the Blanco River flood recorded the moment their home became "a gigantic washing machine."
Sarah Perez of Wimberly posted a video to YouTube showing the moment floodwater from the overflowing Blanco River rushed into her family's home Saturday.
"Oh no!" Perez can be heard saying in the video, which was filmed from the home's second floor. "It turned the living room into a gigantic washing machine," husband Ernie Perez told CNN.
The family was rescued by a fire crew in the area to check on an elderly neighbor.
"We see flashing lights in the distance. We saw a fire crew with two trucks and a boat.," Ernie Perez said. "My brother whistles and gets their attention."
that would be scary
I think I'd be reacting with more tha OH NO (not to make light of this)
Devastating, and most of us in the US have no clue
Father ... Please comfort and guide these folks ... in Jesus' name, amen
If you live on the banks of a river it is when, not if, you will be flooded.
And there’s more of this coming. Several rivers have not crested yet. Very sad.
Wow, fast. You can see why so many are missing.
