What did your city do for Memorial Day? This is what happen where I live. I don't think we can post from the local paper so I used West Coast Thunder Facebook page. They road though where I live today. I'll try to post most of my pictures when I get home. But for now
Very nice albie. God bless you and your family.
I am trying to get over a viral and sinus infection which would be a lot easier if the rain would ever stop. Memorial Day is different in our small previously idyllic cul de sac this year in the Houston suburbs. We have 17 homes on our street but this year only 8 of us have U.S. flags flying. Homes on adjoining streets have none. Truly sad.
Just got back from taking my step-dad (WW2 Vet) to the usual get-together. It’s always nice and we never miss it. More vets and families were there this year which is good. :)
Oh, and went to the cemetary to see the flags on my father’s and uncles’ graves.
No city and no flags for many miles. Stayed at home and remembered relatives and friends.
"Aside from that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"
Memorial
Wet.
Wet.
LOL, i think all the Texas Freepers are thinking the same thing.
Wet.
Beautiful weather this morning for the ceremonies at Ft Bayard National Cemetery, near Silver City NM.
Color guard, reading the names of all the vets buried there this year, rifle salute, honorary wreaths delivered, taps, and prayers.
Used to be a fly over every year, but that no longer happens for some reason.
I know MN is a haven for the left, but I saw many patriots out there paying their respects. With the rain it was very somber, quiet, reflective. Gave me goosebumps and a sense of pride in our American soldiers.
Then came home and been watching WWII in HD. Very chilling, seeing what those boys saw and experienced. If you have a strong stomach for it, it’s very good.
It rained. It rained some more. Stayed home because the emergency call thing said to stay home because roads were closed. The weekend partiers around went home early!
You got to see some planes.
Pretty sure they were AT-6s, flying a very tight formation.
My late pop, Freeper Skyraider...,
...they don’t make ‘em like that anymore. You’re lucky to have a Father like that!
I went to a parade in hometown.
