IF and that is a big if, this can be applied to engines, I think we have something here....

Imagine a 2 stroke not needing any oil, much lower emissions and maybe keep them in the game. Especially if this would work with coated cylinder barrels and pistons, ditto that all bottom end bearings.

A lot of research has been done to make Oil-Free engines in the mid 80's (TACOM Diesels, google it) it worked, but it cost a fortune.

Also, think bearings for Turbine Engines, eliminate one system, i.e. lubrication, especially for the engines that leave and never come home ;-)...

Love to see this tried on ceramics bearings. If the coefficient of Friction is that low that is lower than BAM and Tungsten DiSulfide....
