An 81-year old North Carolina man with cancer returned home from a six-month hospital stay to an empty refrigerator.

With no food and no assistance, the 115-pound man called 911.

Unable to fend for himself, and with no family in the Fayetteville area, Clarence Blackmon called 911 telling the dispatcher that he needed someone to help him buy food, WTVD reports:

‘I can’t do anything. I can’t go anywhere. I can’t get out of my damn chair,’ Blackmon told the dispatcher, Marilyn Hinson.

An hour and a half later Hinson, along with two officers, showed up at Blackmon’s home – with her supervisor’s permission – with a box of groceries she purchased.

I was surprised he wasn’t asked, before being released from the hospital, whether there was someone to stay with him/help him. I thought that question was asked routinely at every hospital.

Shimmer, you had the knowledge to do so, many don’t and they come home so drugged up they don’t function mentally. There is a system set up with in the hospital and it is supposed to work. But like our VA hospitals our private hospitals are just as bad and getting worse.

I or family have been in enough of them I have horror stories about patient mistreatment. Nursing homes are the absolute PITTS!

I do a lot of my own medical care as I have horrid drug reactions. Many health issues, most of them Script Drug Induced. And they want me on more of their damaging drugs. Osteoporosis drugs this time. I do my homework. Every 1 is FDA FLAGGED. And Foreto carries the highest warning the FDA issues a Black Box for Bone Cancer.

As I have a lot of drug induced GI ISSUES these OP drugs could kill me, yet they keep insisting I take them. I shred the scripts and report side effects. Take my supplements and hope they work. Bones are not made out of medicine but supplements.

The one at Le Conte Hospital in Knoxville was one of those A holes. Gave my sister all kinds of promises, none kept and a lot of grief. Said my bro qualified for TennCare. Well he’s not an ILLEGAL he’s just a sick 57 year old white MALE and they get treated like dirt and rejected by our medical aid system. Sis even had to go after the porta potty. He won’t wear diapers, he’s spent months on her loveseat ruining it. They sent her a list of dr appointments that she had no way to plan for she WORKS. Threatened her with the police if she did not take him in. As her back yard and a RV was his last known address.

It’s the world we live in Shimmer. Right has become wrong and wrong Right. Doctors don’t know about the drugs they prescribe other than what the sales rep tells them. And since they work for the drug company they are not about to expose their drug causes all kinds of horrid other illnesses that can kill you or put you on the Pill Merry Go Round. Even a single pill can cause irreparable harm. I have a hard time getting the doctor any doctor to check the script they write against the Synthroid I must take. So many drugs are not compatible with it. It is the first question I have to ask. And 9 out of 10 times they don’t know and their phone doesn’t give them the answer.

You have to be the your own advocate or for you Loved One. I never leave the hospital when my husband is in. Nor did I when my boys were in, except to go get a meal. You rush through it so there is less chance of a medical error being made. They killed my grandfather with their ‘error’, but back then you could not prove it and my grandmother was illiterate. Most of my relatives back then had less than a 6th grade education.

The Medical profession is now about MONEY. Our paper yesterday had an article on LAB mistakes.
