The National Football League suspended New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for four regular season games without pay "for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL," the league announced Monday afternoon.
The league also announced that the team—which won the Super Bowl earlier this year—would be fined $1 million and forced to forfeit its first-round pick in the 2016 draft and its fourth-round selection in the 2017 draft.

How many games are the refs suspended for? They handled the balls on every down, why didn’t they notice if they were “too” soft? Looking for the prominent scape goat, little fish just won’t do.

Ok..what I don’t understand is that Belichick received no fine or suspension..recall that Saints coach Sean Payton was never implicated in Bountygate, yet goodell suspended him for an ENTIRE season because ignorance is no excuse..plus this is Belichick’s second offense punishable by losing a first round pick..doesn’t that enter into anything???? (man I sound whiny..doing my Marie Harf!!!)
So the two guys that actually helped Brady get an indefinite suspension, while Brady gets to come back in 4 games. Sounds fair to me. /sarcasm.

That’s the personal conduct policy. It’s the bad press punishment. As a Steeler fan I’m liking this, opening the season against a Brady-less Pats sounds good to me. As a football fan I think it’s a bad rule and the league should be punishing themselves for being so dumb about it.
This is just time off from work. Instead of the first four games, how about making it the last four games of the regular season. At least it would be a meaningful suspension.

The issue is Tom’s lack of cooperation via his relevant texts and the Pats’ lack of cooperation via not making their equipment guy available.
It is also, IMO, reasonable to draw inferences that lack of cooperation.
